Sam and Dean had just finished a case, and, as usual, were already back on another one. Dean had mentioned many times that the Winchester's were always working, but honestly, what else could they do? Settling down just wasn't an option.
This time they were investigating a series of murders in a small town called Redveil, California.
"Hey Dean, look, there's been another murder"
Sam walked over to the table of the little diner they had stopped in for breakfast, his boots making a loud clomping sound against the wood of the floor, which was worn with age, Redveil wasn't known for its "newness"
Sam held the newspaper to Deans face, eager to move on, while the older brother jerked his face back, pushing the paper away,
"Whoa Sammy, at least let me finish my coffee before you start shovin' stuff in my face" He mumbled, a grumpy tone to his voice. He was still half asleep, not used to being kept all night to do research. On top of that, it was way too early for him to even be awake, but Sam was used to it because of having to wake up early for college.
Sam just frowned at him, sighing impatiently and rolling his eyes, sitting across from Dean with his usual salad. Dean watched him, taking the paper,
"Okay I'm reading it, stop pouting" he teased, skimming it as he drank his coffee.
"Same as the others, plenty of DNA evidence at the crimes, but there were no matches" Sam added as his brother read. Dean eventually finished and set the paper aside,
"Think we should head over and check it out?" He asked, watching Sam eat his salad, his nose scrunched up with disgust. Sam didn't notice, not that he cared..
"Uh.. Yeah" he said, nodding with agreement and taking one last bite, while Dean gulped down the remainder of his coffee, before personally walking to the bar and paying their waitress, adding in a wink for good measure. Sam rolled his eyes as the waitress blushed, and with that, they headed out to the Impala
