Anne was living in a state of uninterrupted bliss on the way back from Gilbert's house. The air felt cleaner, the sky felt clearer, and all was peaceful.

Well, except for her heart.

It was beating at a mile a minute, and had been since the moment Gilbert kissed her. Even thinking about it made the butterflies in her stomach flutter.

As she approached her front doorstep, she remembered that nobody knew of what had transpired, except for herself and Gil. And though she wanted to yell from the window that Gilbert Blythe liked her back, she refrained from doing so. Ruby had moved on Gilbert rather quickly, even moving on from Charlie to Moody as well. But, Anne still felt awkward about the whole situation, opting to figure it out herself before telling the others. Except for Diana. She would have to know immediately, for Anne could never keep such a secret from her even if she wanted to.

After dodging many questions from Marilla, Anne dashed upstairs, calling Diana as soon as her bedroom door closed.

"Hey Anne, what's u—oh my GOD MINNIE MAY GET BACK HERE! Sorry hold on one second Minnie May just stole my iPad." Diana apologized.

"Okay, but hurry up. I have some major updates on you know who." Anne divulged.

"What!? Well then I guess the iPad can wait. Tell. Me. Everything!" she gushed as Minnie May taunted her in the background.

"So we had dinner with Bash and Mary, who were lovely as always, and the gumbo was actually quite splendid—"

Diana cut her off, "Anne! The Gilbert news! Hurry it up!"

"Right, sorry," Anne coughed, "Well, we may have sort of...kissed."

There was no noise from Diana's end.

"Diana?" Anne asked nervously.

"Sorry! That's great, Anne," Diana supplied.

"But?" Anne hedged.

"But, I'm shocked. I never thought either of you had it in you, to be honest." she chuckled.

There was a niggling feeling in Anne's mind that Diana wasn't telling the whole truth, but at the moment she couldn't bring herself to care. She was still wrapped up in the bliss of the kiss, not wanting to let go.

"So what are you guys, then?" Diana brought Anne out of her daydream.

"What?" Anne tilted her head in confusion.

"Well, are you a couple now? Are you dating? Are you taking it slow?" her questioned fired one after the other, making Anne slightly dizzy.

"I—," Anne started.

"Did you even ask him? Did he ask you?" Diana kept going.

"Diana! Just, chill out for a moment!" Anne took a deep breath, "No, we haven't talked about it, and no I don't know what we are. We are definitely taking it slow, though."

"Well are you going to see him again tomorrow? Before school on Monday? Because I think you might want to figure it out before then. Just so it's not a big deal at school." Diana cautioned.

"Probably. I was going to stop by the library anyways," Anne replied.

"Just tell me how it goes... anyways I have go yell at Minnie May, so I'll see you on Monday!" Diana hung up abruptly.

Anne fell back onto her bed dreamily, staring up at her bedroom ceiling and picturing the stars she saw through Gilbert's window before drifting off to sleep.
