Elektra looked up at the black sky and worried. It had been a week since she got a call from her husband, Tj. He always called. No matter what, even if Jami told him it was dangerous for him. He always had to see Elektra and his baby girl, Ariel. Elektra normally wouldn't worry that bad but this time she was eight months pregnant and needed Tj with her for this baby. He missed Ariel's birth because of a mission he was not going to miss this babies' birth. She tried again and finally got a answer but.. Not what she wanted.
"Tj! Thank God you finally picked up I was starting to-" Elektra began but was cut off by Jami.
"El.. Hey honey.. It's Jami" It was Jami... her best friend but not who she wanted to talk to. She wasn't worried still. Jami always pulled pranks on her and Tj. It was normal. But the softness of Jami's tone worried her a bit.
"Jami" She said and exhaled "Put my lazy husband on the phone" She joked. She heard Jami choke. As if about to cry "Jami? You okay?"
"I'm fine Ellie." She whispered "I'm fine but.. I.. I'll put Tj on in a second but I need you to.. To sit down okay"
"Why?" She questioned "I see no reason for me to have to sit down.. It's not like I am going to faint from talking to him."
"Please just sit down Ellie.." Jami slightly commanded. Elektra slowly sat on the steps.
"Alright Jami I'm sitting now-" That's when she heard it. The pain filled wheezing of someone. She couldn't make out who it was but.. It was certainly someone close to death.
"Tj I got Elektra on the phone.." Jami whispered. The wheezing calmed a bit but was still there. Something that sounded like rubble moving occurred and Elektra tensed.
'No... No no no.. Not Tj.. Tj's fine.. He has to be.. He's invincible.. Like Jami.. They've been blown up more times than I can count and are always okay.. He's okay.. He's okay..' Elektra thought then calmed her nerves.
"J-Jami I-" There was coughing. That voice.. It was so tired and weak.. it couldnt have been..
"Tj you need to talk to her now... please.." Jami whispered... Tj.. It was Tj. Elektra's heart began to break.
"El? Baby you there?" He weakly spoke into the phone. "It's Thomas honey.." He coughed harshly.
"Tj.. Tj baby what's... What's going on? This.. If you and Jami are playing a joke on me.." Her anger boiled "It's not funny!" She hissed into her flip phone.
"El.. Baby it isn't a joke.. I.. I'm in a mess... Jami and I both are.. in a.. pretty bad mess.." He set the phone down as he coughed again. She heard Jami.
"Tj breath.. Just breath brother... Please.." Jami's voice began to crack. Tj picked the phone back up.
"Honey.. Listen to me.. I.. I ain't comin' home this time.." He wheezed into the phone. "I.. Can't move real well and.. Baby I'm so tired..."
"Tj don't you dare do this to me..You.. You have to be here for the baby. For Ariel! For me.. Please! Tj don't you leave me.. Thomas I swear if you leave me-" She was cut off by her husband's weak but jokey tone.
"You're going to cut off my Penis and sew it to my forehead... I know baby.. But.." He coughed again "I-I cant hang in for much Longer.. I..." She heard a pause.
"Tj? TJ! Thomas James Morris you son of a bitch answer me!" She yelled into the phone.
"I'm here honey" His voice was quieter than before "I'm still here" His voice began to shake "God.. What I'd give to kiss you one last time.. To see you.. To hold you.. You.. you have to be strong for me El.. For the kids.." He looked at his baby sister "For Jami" She heard Jami choke back a sob. "For everyone.. Don't you let no one cry for me you here? Hell I don't want you to cry for me neither... You... You need to.." He paused again. "You need to stay strong.. Stay strong El.."
