Emma Miles woke up to the sound of rustling outside of her apartment door. She shuffled around in her bed, trying to get more sleep before she had to get up. The universe told her said a big 'fuck you' because it was only few seconds later that her door exploded off the hinges, crashing through the window. She groaned and rolled off the bed, landing on her stomach before sitting on her knees.
"Fine, fine. I'm up. Jeez"
The white-haired witch officially decided to stand up and get ready for the day. She walked past the bed with a longing face, still not completely ready to start the day. She stretched before walking sluggishly to the bathroom. While washing off the drool on her face, she looked at herself in the mirror. Her white hair seemed to wrap around her head like a halo. It was a distinctive feature of hers that everyone seemed to notice, especially after her parent's death. It made people do a double-take and whisper about her. "The white-haired beauty" was her name for most of her childhood. And she hated it. She hated her white-hair too. She never asked for all the attention. The death of her parents made it worse.
She turned away from the mirror with disgust and started walking towards the wall on her left. For onlookers, it would seem like she was just going to walk into the wall. But she phased through, entering what seemed like a blue car wash. Inside the blue room, she was quickly cleaned up and was handed a new set of clothes. It was a pair of navy blue shorts with a golden halter top along with a blue and gold jacket. Of course, this wasn't her fighting outfit, that would appear when she grabs her sword and says some special words.
She walked back into her room and out the door, or where the door would be before it decided to take a vacation. She watched as everyone's eyes snapped towards her as she walked down the hallway. It was most likely because of her reputation. Something she was proud of forever and always. It helps change her name. She was no longer the white-haired beauty. She was now the fierce white-haired seal or the white seal.
Speaking of which, she had finally made it down the last floor, she walked into the pet shelter, it was mostly used for witches familiars. Her yellow eyes brightened up seeing her familiar seal, Snow. Yes, a typical name for anything white, but she was only 8 when she first got him. She couldn't really think of awesome names at that age. But she was ok with it, and so she never really bothered to change it from Snow.
"June!!!"
Emma snapped her head towards the side to see a young female dashing in her direction. She quickly moved out of the way before she got trampled. She watched as the female hugged what seemed to be a baby deer. Emma noticed her brown hair had stopped just below her shoulders and had big black raven-colored eyes. The female seemed to be wearing a type of red riding hood costume. Thigh-high stockings with black boots. A skirt that seemed to fall just below her thighs, it was black. It was kinda a pair of overalls but a skirt. She let the straps hang off so that didn't matter. Her top was bright red and long-sleeved. There was a red pin in her hair, shaped like a star.
"Sorry about that, June likes to wander off." The new female chuckled nervously.
"Oh it's fine," Emma said in response
"I'm Jeanette "
"Emma"
"Well, it was nice meeting you, Emma."
"Yeah, likewise, um-."Emma was going to ask what she was doing here. She wanted to start a friendly conversation but was cut off.
"But now I have to go find my sister. I know she is somewhere around here."
"Do you want me to help look for her?" It was unusual for Emma to offer help, but she felt like she was somehow connected to this female.
"You sure, I mean her and June are practically the same. They don't know how to stay with the group."
"Why not? I have nothing going on today."
Emma and Jeanette were about to walk out of the pet shelter if it wasn't for their familiars. The two females looked back at their familiars with sheepish smiles. "Sorry."
Emma was the first to do her spell. She leaned close to Snow and whispered in his ear, "Sealed." The white seal shrunk and was suddenly enclosed in an earring on Emma's left ear. Jeanette whispered something in June's ear and the deer shrunk but was enclosed in a necklace around Jeanette's neck.
"Now to find that dumbass sister of mi-"
She was suddenly interrupted by the sound of people screaming, followed by the howls of a wild coyote. The brown-haired female sighed. "Nevermind, I found her."
Jeanette grabbed Emma by the wrist and followed the noise only to find her sister right in the middle of the commotion.
"Let go of me, Coco. I'm not trying to play right now!"
"Denise, what's going on?" Yelled Jeanette.
"Oh hey Jeanette, can you not ask me any questions at the moment and help me?"
Denise pushed and Jeanette pulled Coco off of her. Jeanette noticed that the eyes of the coyote are a sickening dark red. She quickly casts a spell and the coyote's turn back to their normal color, grey.
"...Thank you...and who... is this?" Denise says out of breath.
"This is Emma, we just met a few minutes ago. Emma this is my twin sister-"
"Denise right? I heard Jeanette call out your name." The younger and shorter female looked Emma up and down. She had brown hair just like her sisters but instead of raven eyes, she had gray ones. Denise wasn't usually this skeptical about strangers but her familiar had just been a curse for goodness sake. Give her a break. Denise was wearing a light blue shirt along with some white shorts. She had a blue and white flannel wrapped around her waist and a pair of blue and white converses. A pretty simple outfit. The was a white pin in her hair, it was a flower. She leaned down and whispered something in her familiar's ear. She watched as the coyote shrunk and reappeared on a bracelet on Denise's left wrist.
Meanwhile, Emma had started to compare the twins. They looked nothing alike aside from the hair. As that settled in, a feeling of dread fill in her stomach as the pair of black and grey eyes pierced her body. Emma felt an ominous feeling as she continued to stare at the twins. She began to move slowly away from the two, now knowing who they are and not wanting to be around them any longer. She knew it wasn't a coincidence that she met Jeanette. It also wasn't an accident that Denise was fighting with her familiar.
"Where are you going, Emma?" Jeanette asked with a sinister smile.
"You found your sister, which means my job is done. I'm going to scavenge for food."
"Come on, stay awhile. How am I supposed to properly meet you if you leave now?"
Emma shook her head, not wanting to fall into their trap. She clenched onto the metal inside her pocket and pushed a button signaling help. She had a mission to do, so she turned on her heels and ran out the door. She didn't stop for anything and didn't even check to see if the two witches were following her.
It was only minutes later when she realized she wasn't even on the ground anymore. She was in the air. And the twin witches were right in front of her
