You met her when you were in school, she was sitting next to you in art class and you couldn't stop looking at her.
She looked stunning.
The first time you actually talked to her was when you needed help with a project. It was the perfect excuse, right? She was a great artist, you'd seen her work.
You asked her about technique your teacher was asking you to use. She helped you get the hang of it and you kept the conversation going for a while, talking about simple things that with her just seemed fascinating.
You started speaking more often, getting to know each other and, before either of you could notice, you had begun to like her. Really, really like her.
The first sign that something had changed in your relationship was one you could never forget.
You two were in her room, which was adorned with posters of her favourite bands and some of her art. You were eating pizza and talking. You watched her laugh at something you said and felt your heart skip a beat.
You could hear that sound all day long and never get tired of it.
You watched her and her goofy smile, so beautiful it had a way of captivating you like nothing else could.
She was wonderful.
The second sign that something had changed was when you two were on the balcony of her apartment two weeks later. She was smoking a cigarette and you were keeping her company, listening to music quietly and sitting a just a little too close for it to not be an intimate moment.
You were staring at the city lights and she couldn't stop herself. Once she glanced at you she couldn't look away.
You looked ethereal with the lights reflecting on your face and making your eyes sparkle, there simply couldn't be anyone more beautiful in that moment.
You looked back at her once you realised she was staring at you.
"Something on my face?" You asked quietly with a little playful smile.
She shaked her head and smiled back, turning to look at the lights with you.
