Chapter 1

A/N: so this story is set in 2020 so they all have phones and shit. Hope you like it!

Eddie Kaspbrak was a short boy, despite being 16. He had brown freckles and curly hair, Eddie was a lonely boy, he only ever had one friend, and her name was Max.

Max and her long orange hair and bubbly personality, Max and her bad-ass attitude, Max and her one and only friend, Eddie.

Well Eddie was moving. Leaving Indiana and everyone in it, leaving Max, leaving Sonia, leaving the life he's been living for the past 15 years, this would be a breath of fresh air. A vacation that would last the rest of his life.

Eddies POV:
I ran upstairs, ignoring mothers voice. She can't stop me, not this time. I pull out a duffel bag and shove my band shirts and jumpers in, then my ripped jeans and shorts, then 2 packs of rolled cigarettes, my iPhone charger and 3 of my dark grey beanies.
I open up my phone to see I have 3 texts and 6 missed calls from Max. I didn't show up to school, I've never missed a day in my life.
Max
M- hey Eddie are you okay?
M- edDDiEeeEeE wHEreeE aREEe yoUUuU
M- Eddie come on what's wrong? You NEVER miss school!! Like ever >:(

E- hey Max...
'Max' is typing...
M- oha mya goda Eddie!! Hey hey hey what's going on what's up r u ok did Sonia hurt u or r u "sick"
E- Max... im leaving
M- omg finally!! You can come live with me, no doubt about it. Ur living with me!
E- Max
E- im living Indiana, I'm going to find my dad, I think he lives in Maine, Derby or something?
M- oh
M- ok
M- that's good...
M- um I'll miss you...
E- Max im sorry
M- no no it's okay Eddie! You need to do this.... I just, will I ever see you again?
E- I don't know, I'll text you when I'm there?
M- yeah yeah,
Oh and it's Derry, Maine not Derby 😂
E- thanks max

And with that, Eddie turned his phone off and grabbed his bag and jumped out the window of the 1 story house in Indiana for the last time.
