Tom couldn't let Tord go back home. No. Not after Tord had just informed him with.
Tord sat on the couch and held an icepack over his left eye, the one with the bruise, with his bag next to him, while Tom searched for band aids im his room for Tord's legs and face. Eventually, Tom found a pack of band aids for Tord and walked down the stairs to the shaking 12 year old.
"I found some band aids, Tord" Tom showed him the small box.
The responsible 13 year old opened the box and took out a hanful of band aids.
Tom carefully tore the wrapping off of the sticky band aid. He carfully pushed the band aids against the wincing Tord. Both boys lightly blushed as Tom's hands touched Tord's face.
Tom and Tord sat in silence for a few hours before Tom spoke up.
"Sooo... are you going to go home? You can stay here if it's safer?"
"I....I don't know..."
"I think he'd just get more angry if I stayed here..." Tord continued.
Tom thought for a few seconds
"The shed! There's an abandonned shed not too far away! I know it sounds dumb, but we can set it up and stuff, and you can stay there!" Tom thought out loud, un-characteristically throwing his hands in the air.
Tord thought for a bit.
".... I guess it wouldn't hurt..."
Almost immediantly, Tom shot up and sprinted to the cupboards under the stairs. He pulled open the two cupboard doors and reached into it. Tom's arms retreated to his chest as he pulled out a handful of blankets. He walked back to the couch and placed them next to Tord. Tom then ran to his room, then ran out with a big hand full of clothes. This continued for 10 minutes, until Tom finally ran back with the last thing... the ukulele...
Tom shoved all of the supplies he'd gathered into a suitcase.
Tord was ecxited about moving out at 12, but he wasn't quit this enthusiastic about it. Tord chuckled and Tom a few times before the boy in blue spoke up.
"M'kay, it's only a 5 minute walk away from here."
Tom pulled Tord up and walked outside with him.
The two boys walked in a straight line for a bit before Tom turned, Tord followed. In due time they made it to an old, abanndoned shed.
