I remember when it started. All these visions, of destruction, of chaos, of death. It all began with that mirror, that strange mirror. I found it in an old shop, thought it looked nice, so I bought it. My mum hated it, always said it gave her a strange feeling like it was watching her. I should've listened. At first everything was normal, that mirror sat in my room with its blue tinted world mimicking our own. Then it began to change. I would notice some stuff would be in a different place in the mirror than it was in our world. It was small stuff, at first, lamps and pillows, that kind of thing. But as time went on, it became totally different.

I remember when it started. That night I couldn't fall asleep, I felt uncomfortable. Like I was being watched. That's when I sat up and looked at the mirror, it was glowing slightly. Curious, I moved closer and that's when I heard a voice, like a small whisper so silent I almost thought I had imagined it. It was telling me to touch the mirror, to enter it. And for some reason I did. I passed straight through as though it was just a hole in the world. A gap, leading from one dimension to another. I looked around as I stood in this seemingly empty world. Nothing but blue clouds around me. Then I saw a figure in the distance. "Hello?" I called out, my voice echoing through the nothingness. The figure didn't move, it just stood there with their back to me.

Gathering some confidence, I decided to go closer. This world was so quiet and empty I could hear my heart thundering in my chest, perhaps the stranger could too. I was right behind the person now, who I could tell from the shape was an older man. I tapped him on the shoulder, my hand shaking. "Uh-excuse me? Where am I?" I asked, my voice once again echoing. The echo sounded different this time, like it was closer than before. "What is this place?" I said out loud, then I realised. My body tensed; my hands froze at my sides. There wasn't an echo at all. This mysterious man in front of me was saying the same as me at almost the exact same time. As I realised this, the man turned around to face me. I felt faint at what stood in front of me. The man, this older man. Was me. An older version of me. His eyes were looking off to the distance, glazed over. As if they had saw some truly awful things. I went to speak but, all of a sudden, those glossy eyes stared down at me. Looking me straight in the eyes. It was horrific. I could see things in his eyes, images. Of fires, burned cities and clouds of red as if the whole world was burning. It was like staring straight into hell itself. There were people there, burning and screaming. I wanted to look away, to run and run and never look back but I couldn't I just kept staring into hell. Then the man's mouth opened, his lips moved as though trying to say something, but no sound came out. Then there came a scream from behind me "they're coming. Beware. The end will soon be upon us." Then I awoke in bed. The mirror gone. Those visions constantly appearing in my head. Of darkness and despair. Of my fabulous future.
