I really like going to the movies. The popcorn, the smuggled in candy, the laughter.. It's all great, really. But when your best friend's girlfriend tags along, things just get weird. Especially if they're sucking each other like a vacuum throughout the majority of the movie.

I sat in my seat with my arms crossed as I glared skeptically at my best friend, Jared, who was nonchalantly making out with his girlfriend of two years, Ally. I rolled my eyes and stared at the big movie screen, not even taking in what was happening.

Ally didn't like me too much, so I tried not to get to close to her. Actually, it was safe to say that she completely hated every part of me. She hated my hair, my personality, my face, but she hated me most of all for being best friends with Jared. We used to hide our hatred for each other because of him but now we couldn't give a rat's ass.

"Hey! Can you guys like not play tonsil hockey?" I asked, sounding more like a demand. I had finally lost it. I tapped my fingers impatiently on the chair's arm while they slowly finished doing whatever it is they were doing. Jared laughed at my effort and Ally sat there, glaring at me. I felt her eyes burning into me, like a thousand daggers. I could tell she wanted to injure me so badly at that moment.

I know you hate me, Ally! No need to be shy! I thought sarcastically to myself, pouting.

Out of nowhere, Ally stood up and ran girlishly down the stairs - like a princess. I knew she was plotting my death but I casually tilted my head in Jared's direction. He noticed I was giving him the death glare and gave me a I-know-what-you're-thinking-but-don't look. I grabbed a popcorn piece and shoved it down his shirt, smiling victoriously.

"Suck that, Jared," I grinned, proud of my boldness.

"I have something to suck," He replied, staring at the movie screen with a smirk, "But, thanks for the offer."

"You guys have been going out ever since your freshman year. A bit lengthy, isn't it?" I asked in a hoarse whisper. The last thing I want is the fat security guard, "Big" Al, kicking me out because I smuggled in some more candy. I got caught last time but he ate my airheads as a punishment. This time I wouldn't be so lucky.

"Somebody's jealous," He smiled at me, shoving his hand down his grey brand t-shirt. After several seconds of mindlessly fishing, he located the popcorn piece I previously lead down into the abyss that is his shirt. I watched him shove it cheerfully into his mouth, chewing obnoxiously.

I attempted to give him the death glare again when I noticed his shirt wasn't covering him completely. I stared at his stomach muscles lustfully then realized I was doing it, turning my attention back to the movie. I felt my face growing hot so I acted like I was eating my popcorn.

"Pig," He muttered under his breath, but I heard him. I balanced the popcorn container on my lap before turning to face him.

"What was that?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"Pig," He repeated confidently.

I couldn't resist. I started flinging popcorn at him at all angles, then he took my popcorn container and started firing it back at me. I attempted to take it back but he was too strong. I put my head on his shoulder to reach for the popcorn when I heard a cough.

What a coincidence.

I slowly looked up to see Ally standing there, again with the deadly glare. I annoyingly retreated back to my seat and let Ally sit down, her fists clenched. I stared at her as she sat down and she stared right back at me. What can I say? If you hate someone, you have to stare at them angrily.

I have to admit, I was pissed throughout the entire movie. Ally sat there not even looking at Jared, not to mention not touching him in any shape or form. Way to go! You have self control! Go figure, Ally.

Jared just sat there, consuming the movie as well as my popcorn. I think it's safe to say he was completely oblivious to the hatred we were throwing back and forth to each other. I, myself, sat there wallowing in my own self pity.

After the movie ended, I immediately sprang from my chair and darted down the littered aisles. I flung the door open and carelessly dumped all my candy, popcorn, and pop into the trash can. Coincidentally, Big Al was in charge of trash that night.

I could hear Jared and Ally trailing me from behind. I knew Ally could care more about a micro-organism invisible to the naked eye than about my feelings and well being. Jared on the other hand actually cared, and I could tell he wanted to get rid of Ally.

"April! Wait up!" Jared yelled after me, trying to desperately free himself from Ally's grip. I looked back at him to see sweat forming on his forehead but only for a second before I started to run home. I had to get out of there. Never again am I going to a movie with him and his girlfriend. It's like eating with your mother-in-law.
