SAD DAYS
As I lean back and puff on my cigar.
An eerie feeling when I see this kid looking around as if he didn't know where to start.
All aboard and I choke my cigar.
I walk to my seat and throw myself into my chair.
"Would you like to buy a drink sir, I got these from last nights mini bar.".
What the hell kid, you're selling me miniature alcohol bottles, somethings not fair.
Where are your patent I ask him while scratching my chin.
"I was living with cousins but I'm on my way to visit my dad in Flagstaff on a whim."
So you're riding alone, is there a guardian with you?
"Sir, I've been alone since I can remember".
From the looks of him the story rings true.
I'll tell you what kid. Throw away the bottles and to you $50 I'll surrender.
But tell me, why are you leaving your cousins house?
"Sir, there's just no enough food there and I eat less than a mouse.".
"All the chores are set on my shoulders and every night my cousin has a different spouse.".
"At night I can't sleep from all the fighting and hollering in that house.".
Well, at least you're on the right track to go and see your dad.
You must be happy about that. Extremely glad.
His eyes get full of tears and I ask him what's wrong.
He makes two fists and tells me he's never met his dad and fears he's just been sent along.
