"Hey, Riley! You came! I was hoping you would." Exclaimed Emma.
"Hey, yeah thought I may as well do something for new years eve," I replied.
"Keep your eyes out for my friend Ashley, she's got blue hair and doesn't know anyone else at the party like you. I think you guys would really vibe together. Drinks are in the kitchen!" Emma Informed me as she drunkenly disappeared into the crowd of dancing teenagers in her living room.
I walked through the kitchen and filled a red solo cup full of apple juice, just to make it look like I was drinking something. I looked up at a group of girls stumbling into the kitchen, grabbing more drinks when they clearly had had plenty. I walked back out of the kitchen and found a couch to sit down on. The regret started sinking in as I watched couples and friends dance together to the incredibly loud music.
I probably should've stayed at home, I don't know why I thought I'd have a good time." I unlocked my phone and began to look through art pages on my Instagram.
"Hey-"
I looked to my left and there she was. A girl sitting next to me with bronzed skin covered in freckles. Her eyes looked like three different colours at once and her hair was... blue.
"- we're wearing the same shoes" She pointed out.
"Oh yeah, we are" I replied, they were black doc martens, not very uncommon.
"I really like your hair" I shouted over the music. She made a confused face and gestured to her ear.
"I really like your hair!" I shouted even louder, closer to her ear. She smiled and her cheeks went red as she mouthed "thank you".
"Hey, do you-"
"What?" I Shouted.
"Do you..."
I still couldn't hear her and shrugged my shoulders. She smiled and shook her head then grabbed my hand and pulled me off the couch and lead me upstairs to a different room.
