Kiyoko Aizawa's pov

"Welcome back after that crazy match up. We've got last rounds walking advertisement, but who will now put up a fight with those engines in his legs, Iida Tenya!" Mic shouted. The crowd cheered as Iida walked up. Once he made his way to the stage, I walked out of my hallway.

"Versus the purple haired girl who can stun and make your head go wild, Aizawa Kiyoko!" Mic shouted. I walked up and made eye contact with Iida. He tapped on the side of his temple. I got the hint and read him.

'Best of luck to you. I look forward to the competition,' he thought. I smiled.

'The same to you, Iida,' I thought back.

He smiled. Midnight raised her whip. "Ready?" She yelled.

I looked at Iida. One thing was running through my mind. Reciproburst. I can't exactly placebo the engines themselves. But the thing is that Iida's engine function can still be placeboed if I am correct. It's emission, like Kurogiri's portal.

I'm likely to lose focus like I did in the last round. Once he figured out he's no longer placeboed, it's likely all over for me. But one thing stuck with me.

He mentioned that after he used Reciproburst, his engines stalled. So if I get my timing just right...

"Begin!" Midnight yelled. Iida got low to the ground.

"Recipro..." he yelled. His engines sputtered up. And a huge blue flame came out, sending him towards me at an unprecedented speed. "Burst!"

I placeboed him. He quickly put his hands on my shoulders. His engines sputtered and stopped. I grabbed his shoulders back and swung to the left, swinging us apart from each other and both of us trying to catch our balance.

"What?! She got rid of his quirk so late! Iida was too fast for her!" Mic shouted.

"That's not the case at all," Eraser said to the stadium. "In the first round she lost focus of her quirk, almost making her lose the match. She had to change up her strategy. If you remember in the Calvary battle after Iida used Reciproburst he couldn't use his engines. Now, Iida has used Reciproburst, rendering his engines useless. She waited for him to start the process so even if she did lose focus of her quirk Iida still couldn't use his."

"Clever! Thank you Eraser!" Mic shouted.

Iida realized his predicament. I let go of the placebo, since it's job is done. Iida came at me and swung his leg around with a kick. I narrowly avoided it and felt a powerful wave of air. Even if his quirk is gone, those engines make his kicks lethal. I realized my best bet was to get this over with instead of putting on a show. I concentrated hard on the placebo and paralyzed his entire body from the shoulders down. I widened my stance to keep myself from falling as I concentrated hard. I stuck out my hand for dramatic effect. It's pretty much the only show I could put on at this point. Iida fell and couldn't move. I kept using my quirk, though I started to lose feeling in my limbs the tiniest bit.

I just have to hold this until Midnight calls it. My legs began to shake. It's been roughly 30 seconds. I felt myself freeze up more and more. I started to lose my balance when I heard the glorious words.

"Iida is immobilized! Aizawa advanced to the next round!" The crowd cheered. I let go of him and stumbled a little bit. I grunted and groaned. The feeling in my limbs began to come back and I got up and walked towards Iida. I leaned a hand out to him. He took it and I helped him up. I shook his hand and he smiled.

"That was very clever. I admire your cunning wits," he said. Though he had a smile on his face, he looked very sad.

I laughed a little. "Thank you, I almost didn't have you there for a second though. You were extremely fast," I replied. He thanked me and we began to walk out of the arena. I saw Todoroki waiting for me in my hall. He was leaning against the wall. He saw me and he stood up straight.
