Walking into Headmaster McGonagall's office, they see a girl waiting in a chair patiently, twiddling her thumbs and looking around the office.
"Alexandra! I would like you to meet our new head girl and boy. Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy. Hermione, Draco...Alexandra. If you will follow them, they'll give you a tour around Hogwarts and answer any questions you may have." McGonagall says, introducing them all to each other and then ushering them out of the door
"Nice to meet ya! So, tell us about yourself!" Hermione says enthusiastically
"Well, I'm from America as you know. Although my dad is Italian...hence my very Italian name. I'm sixteen. I was in house Horned Serpent back at Ilvermorny. I believe your sorting hat placed me in Ravenclaw. Quite a strange way of sorting you have here...back in America our statues place us in our houses...sometimes more than one will choose you and then you get to choose what house you're in...nothing like that with the sorting hat." She says, looking to them for confirmation, to which Hermione nods her head yes, kind of annoyed she's trying to best Hogwarts with Ilvermorny
"I'm Hermione and this is Draco. We're both in our eighth year because of the war, which I'm sure you know about. I'm in Gryffindor and Draco is a Slytherin...and we're engaged." Hermione tells her awkwardly
She hated awkward introductions like this, so instead of continuing the awkward encounter, she asked Alexandra to follow them as they lead her around the castle for her tour.
First, they led her to the Great Hall and surrounding areas, then showed her around all of her classes and the best ways to get to each of her classes, then to her common room and dormitories - which they wouldn't be able to go in and show her around, the Ravenclaw prefects would have to do that for them. Finally, they lead her outside with a quick tour and nod to Hagrid's hut.
"This place is much more confusing than Ilvermorny...it'll take some getting used to. So, tell me about this strange law you have here courtesy of the Ministry of Magic. Thankfully, MACUSA didn't subject us to that." She says a bit snarkily
"We understand they're just doing what they think will be best for the Wizarding World here in Europe. Draco and I have grown quite fond of each other over this law. So have most of our friends...and while it may be unfortunate about the way it came to fruition, we are glad it did." Hermione says, defending the law and her relationship with Draco. She didn't like this girl...she didn't like her one bit.
Noticing the tension between Hermione and Alexandra, Draco steps in to relieve Hermione and asks Alexandra a few questions about America and reaches to grab Hermione's hand in a comforting gesture, hoping to relieve some of her tension.
"Yeah! That's how we were sorted...we didn't even get our wands until after our sorting ceremony...and we have to leave them at the castle when we go home for breaks...unless you're seventeen of course. It can be quite annoying but I love Ilvermorny. I only came to Hogwarts so I could live with my dad for my last few years of school. I know they say Hogwarts is the best wizarding school in the world, but we'll see about that...anyway, how is your engagement going?" She asks Draco after blabbing on and on about Ilvermorny
"It's going well. Although we've only been engaged a few days." Draco answers awkwardly, not really wanting to talk to this stranger about his personal life as she could easily spread anything he said
"No family drama or anything? All good things?" She pries
"Nope. All good things." He clips
"What about you, Hermione? How is everything going? Same for you?" She asks the brunette
"Yep! Everything is going lovely. We're quite excited to plan our wedding." Hermione says smugly, trying to get Alexandra off of her tail
"That's great! Have you set a date yet?" She asks
"Not quite yet. As Draco said, we just got engaged a few days ago anyway. We're in no rush." Hermione answers
"Is there anything else you'd like to see before we go and find your Prefect so you can get into your common room before supper?" Draco asks, getting the attention off of their personal lives
"The bathrooms? I don't remember seeing any." She says
"I'll show you the girl's lavatories...although usually, we don't use them because of Myrtle." Hermione says casually, as they start walking toward to girl's lavatories
"Who's Myrtle and why don't we use the bathrooms because of her?" Alexandra asks
"We call her 'Moaning Myrtle'. She's a ghost. Killed by the basilisk. All she does is whinge and moan about the sad life she had." Draco explains, causing a grimace to form on Alexandra's face
"Is there any other place to use the bathroom then?" She asks confused
"Of course. There are WCs in the dormitories. Everyone just uses those." Hermione explains as they reach the girl lavatory, walking in and hopefully staying out of sight of Myrtle, not wanting to start a conversation
"So if that's it then, we can take you to Luna. McGonagall said she was going to wait for us near the Main stairs." Hermione says, darting off so she could get far, far away from the transfer student
Draco and Alexandra were a bit father behind her, seeing as Hermione was all but sprinting to the next destination. Suddenly, she hears a question that makes her slow her pace in shock
"So...do you love her?" She asks him
"I really don't think that's any of your business." He says, annoyed
"Ah. So you don't. Let me know if you ever need...something else. I would be happy to relieve you of her. She seems quite stru-
"Bloody hell. You just got here. Please. Mind your own business and stay out of mine and Hermione's love lives. It is absolutely none of your business. We've had a very hard go of it the last few years and we don't need you making our final year harder. So, please. Mind your own business, Alex. Can I call you that? Alexandra is just such a long name that I don't have time to waste on."
Although Hermione isn't facing them, she can tell there's probably a very shocked expression on Alex's face and a very mad expression on her Fiancé's face.
Deciding to turn around and stop this before he cursed the little girl, Hermione asks them why they were so far behind and to hurry up, that she wanted to unpack.
The rest of the walk to Luna was silent with tension filling the air, so thick you could cut it with a dull knife"Luna! Here's our new pupil, Alexandra. We've shown her everything she needs to see. Good luck!" Hermione says, happy to be rid of the daft tart before skipping along back to the Great Hall with Draco in tow, watching Hermione hop along
"You seem happy all of the sudden...why am I the annoyed one now?" Draco asks, frowning
"I'm in a good mood because we don't have to deal with her anymore! She's all Luna's. And because you stuck up for me with the tart. That was very Gryffindor of you...and a bit Slytherin because of the words you used. Perhaps I'm rubbing off on you a bit." Hermione smiles, grasping Draco's hand in hers, earning a small smile from him
"You heard that?" He asks
"Yes. She was being a bit of a slapper...wasn't she?. How utterly horrible can a girl be to another girl? Trying to steal another woman's man within two hours of meeting him. Thank you for sticking up for me, Draco." She says, leaning up and planting a quick kiss on his cheek
"I'm making up for our past. Let's go to supper. I could bite my arm off for a spot of...well anything. I'm starving."
