Part 1

Prologue
The sun was setting on the eastern horizon, the birds chirped one last time, as the crickets and frogs started to play. The mountains around us, as tall as three skyscrapers together and as thin as they can get, reached for the dimming sky. It was a big benefit to live in the Mountain range of dragon's, especially if you're trying to raise a child. I sighed and walked back into our 2 story cottage and I was greeted with friendly kisses from the two baby dragon's. One had the normal bat-like wings, with the signs of being a nature dragon. The other was hard to read. He had bird wings, phoenix shaped, but they were black like a raven, and had the slightest bit of lime green at the tip of each feather. He looked more like a winged panther than any other dragon. Then My son came running into the room screaming at the top of his lungs. Ivy came running in after him, his magnificent green leaf-like wings flaking off real ones.
"What's happening here!" I said, grabbing my son by the arm and lifting him up into the air. He squealed with delight as Ivy rolled his eyes and leapt onto his balcony and into his nature nest. My son pointed at Ivy and then to his saddle.
"No my little shadow, you can't ride Ivy, he's sleeping."
He didn't care, he just yelled, "Ride Ivy! Ride Ivy!"
"Not now my little shadow, let me tell you a story."
"Yes! Yes!"
I set him down on his bed where the little black dragonet laid. I started off, "it all started years ago, when I met your mother..."

That same night, something magical happened in the ice kingdom...

"My king, your Queen is having her baby."
"Now! Oh why did it half to be the night that the prophecy foretold! Send the best guards in the kingdom to guard the doors, and the best archers on every window! No one enters or exits the palace!"
My dragon, Starlight, walked beside me. She said into my head, "she will be ok my Rider, I feel it."
"I hope you're right Starlight." I mumbled.
The best doctors were rushing back and forth from the Queen's quarters, as Starlight sat down beside the door. The guards were sharper than ever. All of a sudden a dark shadow devoured the room, all the ice torches burnt out as a cold wind blew through the halls. The guards within the room suddenly started to yell and try to reach for the door, but they were silenced. The guards in the hall turned to the door and got ready for someone to burst through, raising their spears and swords. Nothing happened. I ran to the door and threw them open.
"No! My Rider come back!" Starlight yelled, trying to get into the room. It was darker than the darkest night, the shadows seemed to speak. I drew the legendary ice sword, held by my father, and his father before him. The light from the sword did nothing but draw attention from the Queens bed. She was in the darkest part of the room, and I knew someone was there.
"This is the king of the ice kingdom, step away from the bed!" I yelled at the darkness. Whoever it was turned their head to look at me. His eyes glowed red, and his voice was multiple dark voices. He spoke, "this is the prophecy being fulfilled."
He disappeared and the dark magic swarmed around me. All of a sudden a red blade was thrown through my chest, and straight through my heart. Starlights screams echoed around the halls, as I realized she was going to die with me. Strong bonds in the past proved that anyway.
"N...No." I sputtered as I fell on my knees.
"Oh yes dear king. The princes of dragon's shall grow up without a father!"
His laughs echoed through the Ice castle, as I finally saw the Queen. She was sitting up in bed, and she was holding a baby girl.
"...may...our daughter...find her...dragon soon...my little...star..."
I collapsed on the floor, then felt myself rising into the stars, and with me was Starlight...
