I was running late to school because I managed to sleep right through all four of my alarms as I barely got any sleep due to Matt punching the living day lights out of me last night meaning I was in a lot of pain. I had already missed my first two lessons which was annoying.

I got into school and texted Ellie to see where she was, but I didn't get any response. It was lunch time so she would be able to reply unless her phone got taken off her but that was unlikely. Maybe she just didn't come in today. I know she had maths just before lunch, so I'll go ask the teacher if she was in. "Hey Mrs Williams?" I said as I opened the door. She was a tiny, old women with wizened skin and had grey hair that was always tide up in a bun. "What can I do for you Mr Wright?"

"Was Ellie Mills in class today?"

"Yes, she was and for a matter of fact you weren't young man so care to explain why?"

"I woke up really la..." I was cut off by the sound of people shouting. I turned around and saw a herd of students running all in the same direction. "What is going on?" Mrs William muttered as she stomped towards where the crowd was running to and I followed closely behind. We eventually saw a herd of students forming around something. "Chelsey what's going on?" I asked the first person I saw that I actually knew.

"It's Ellie, she's getting beaten up." I snapped into action and pushed my way to the front. I saw Ellie led on the floor with Melissa slapping her repeatedly. Ellie was trying to push her off, but it didn't help with the bunch of girls pinning her down at the ankles and wrists. Everyone was chanting and laughing. The teachers weren't able to get through the gaggle of people to stop the fight. I had to do something, and I do it fast. I wasn't going to be able to pull all of the girls of Ellie. I looked around for some way to help and I saw the perfect solution. The shiny red box caught my eye and it was calling my name. The fire alarm was the perfect solution. I pulled the lever and it triggered all the sprinklers which soaked everyone. Everyone started screaming and rushing to the nearest exit. Of course, Melissa and the girls were moaning about their hair and makeup. I stood there laughing so much that I was struggling to breath. Eventually the crowd cleared and I went to check on Ellie but she was gone. I headed out and searched for her but had no luck. I started to ring her, I could hear her phone ringing and I could tell it was her phone as her ringtone was her favourite song. I followed the sound and found her phone almost immediately. Melissa was waving about Ellie's phone and congratulating herself on her success. I snatched the phone and quickly shoved it straight it into my bag. "Hey what's up with the theft?" Melissa moaned,

"it's not theft if it's already stolen."

"Good point but I want it back."

"Why should I?"

"Because I want it. Come on give me the phone. Pretty please Jamie."

"Nope." I could tell it was getting on her nerves. "I'm just messing with you but I did come over to say that the gym teacher is getting out of a few hairdryers so I thought you might want to use it."

"Really? Thanks Jamie I really need to fix this mess. I'll catch up with you tonight, you are coming to my party tonight, right?"

"Yeah sure I'll be there." Any mention of Melissa's hair and she instantly forgot about Ellie's phone.

"Good. Starts at eight. See ya hun." I waved off to Melissa and the other girls and headed straight to Ellie's house as it was the only place I thought she could have gone.

I knocked on Ellies' door but no one answered. I continuously knocked until I felt someone grab my shoulder causing me to jump a mile. "I'm guessing you're the one who pulled the fire alarm," Alex said as he unlocked the door and we went in.
