Happy Thanksgiving! Sorry for the wait, but this story, among many others that I have made were lost until recently and now that I have found it, i decided to quickly post it. I know it's not much, but I will update quickly. I made a new cover as well, enjoy!

Catalina breezed through her four periods and now it was time for lunch. Everyone scrambled around the lunch bar, fighting for food. She spotted Lucy sitting in their regular spot with unfortunately Evan as well. With a sigh, she slummed to the line and got random types of food. Nothing was interesting enough to eat today so when she paid for her lunch and arrived at the table, she pushed the tray away. Lucy tried to make conversation, that both of them would talk about. Evan answered a couple of questions, but Catalina stayed silent. Lucy threw a pleading expression towards Catalina. Catalina sighed, giving up the burden of being unforgiving.

Evan gave her a worried glance, feeling the weird tension in the air, “How are you Cat?”

Catalina expressed a sharp glare towards Evan, “At the moment I would prefer you to just call me Catalina. Okay, Evan?”

With a defeated look on his face he nodded his head, “Sure...Whatever you want.”

Evan huffed with slight irritation as he got up from the table. He grabbed his lunch and his bag, giving Lucy a quick kiss, and walked to the nearest trashcan. Catalina dropped her head, feeling really bad about treating her friend that way.

Evan turned around and quickly walked back to the table, “Just remember one thing Catalina, I’m not the one who you were in a relationship with so don’t treat me in the same category just because he’s my best friend.” He sighed with an apologetic face, “I’m still you’re friend Cat…don’t forget that.”

With that, Evan just simply walked away into the crowded hallway. Catalina picked up her shock filled face and started picking with the food on her plate. Lucy crossed her legs under the table, not paying attention to her phone that was constantly vibrating. Catalina stopped toying with her food and began rummaging in her purse for her phone. She scrolled through the list of blocked messages from Tyler, pulling up the emails for the list of mandatory clinic checks that she had to go to, to try out for the softball team.

Lucy peeked across the table at Catalina, "You know you didn't have to treat him that way."

Biting her tongue from saying the first thing that came into her head, she confessed. "Sí...I know. I feel bad now...and he is right. Tell him sorry for me?"

Lucy chuckled as she crossed her arms over her chest, "No thanks babe, you're going to have to do that yourself."

Catalina sighed, "I had a feeling you were going to say that."

The cafeteria got really loud as a new lunch wave came rushing in. The line was instantly swamped with students, who probably weren't going to eat the food in the first place. Around this time, Lucy and Catalina would commence leaving the cafeteria, but they stayed back today to relax. People were scrambling around trying to find somewhere to sit and socialize. Lucy perked up as she noticed some of the players from the baseball team sitting at one of the big tables in the back. She cast her glance around the bright-lit room, looking for one boy in particular. Lucy gleamed as she spotted Alex setting his food down at the team's table, with a big grin on his face. Lucy entertainingly watched Alex and the guys play with the indescribable lunch food, pushing their trays around. As Lucy giggled at the guys across the room, Catalina glimpsed at Lucy’s face and followed where she was looking.

Catalina’s eyes were instantly locked on Alex. She watched as Alex swiftly removed his phone from his pocket and started taking pictures of him and the guys, yelling out “Before we eat this so called ‘lunch’ and die, LEMME TAKE A SELFIE!” Laughter erupted around them while Lucy hurriedly grasped her phone, taking a picture of the scene. Catalina cackled like an old hag, not very attractively. Lucy turned around, surprised at the sound and laughed with a loud snort. Lucy instantly covered her mouth, sending tears streaming down Catalina’s face as she held her stomach. People around them started to laugh at the weird scene that was unveiling in front of them. Lucy began to compose herself as Catalina stopped crying. They were both caught up in the moment that they were unaware of a person standing at their table.
