Amongst the streets of loss — between the avenues of wandering orphaned souls — I lied here... betwixt the alley garbage and shit I sat taking solace in the rats which scurried amongst the filth; swiftly, over my still corpse they scampered at a shadow's presence. I could stare at their shadowed steps for only so long.

'Why won't they leave me be?' My head tilted ever higher. Below them, the eyes of a dead man judged them harshly.

Before me a figure shrouded in fur robes of white. For a moment I swore I seen their face.

"Do we know each other?" Coarsely were my words as they came between us.

"I'm afraid not." A woman. So tall did she stand.

"Then fuck off..." I spat upon her cloak but upon my eyes return she held before me a parcel once hidden: a book, thick and dark yet it hummed slightly.

"You can hear it, can't you?" Her voice... it was so wrong. In a way indescribable.

"What is it?..."

"Your resolve."

Hesitant, raw fingers rose to touch it's painful leather. Stroking its edges, my touch did all to molest its leather-bound body; ominous swirls and symbols garnished its covers. There within a mysterious eye sat midst the palm of one's hand.

"Wha..." I sat alone. Holding it still, no one was in my presence nor I in theirs.

I couldn't deny its happening but... I was still alone.

A heavy breath burdened the air.

"Okay." I whispered.

The moments I've wasted reasoning this lesson was far more than ample to master such. My own curled fingers hovered before my forehead as my interest focused. Such intensity of mind brought with it a pain: as if a dagger was burrowing into my flesh before its ignition into flame. My palms trembled furiously as I began to tear them from one another; pulling them apart proved to be possibly vain.

Despite being held shut within my vision a blur of ivory formed the horizon. Fluttering throughout, the pain found my flesh in its entirety. Parting, my lips opened to scream as my hands took to my sides, all at once the light engulfed me.

Lying across the floor, I dozed within a concussed sense. Hovering over my palms and knees an ill held me violently. However... No longer did I stare into the scraps of thrown fare. Clear and without obscurity did I sink my grasp in soil. A vibrant green allured my wonder, pulling my eyes I surveyed where I was; rolling on for the eternity over hills of long grass reached.

Such a... Impeccable accomplishment left within my cadaver a sense of brilliant horror.
