Soon the beeping calmed and Sera was able to think again, her mouth hanged open before she finally found the words to explain,

"Elle, you are not the shadow...why do you think that?"
She sighed frustrated and impatient, she got up and stood at the curtain opening it a little before turning back and glaring at Sera.

"Even when you're not trying I'm the forgotten sister."

Minutes after she had stormed out of the hospital the man on the bed beside Sera, chuckled lightly,
"Well, that was the best drama I've seen in years!"
She raised an eyebrow before turning her face away.

"Ah darling I'm sorry, I'm sure your sister didn't really mean it. I should know, I have an older brother."

She glanced at him again, he was grinning missing a tooth and it looked like he was a drowned cat. His clothes had a few holes and rips, they were dull and barely recognisable as clothing.
He noticed her judging him but didn't stop her, she was right to judge him just as he was right to judge her.

"Name's Rick, you?"
"Sera."
He looked at her pale complexion, the sunken eyes and the tube around her face.
"So do you wanna tell me your story?"
"It's not cheerful."
He chuckled, "When is it ever?"

She wondered what his story was, he didn't look that sick and if he was he was damn good at not showing it.
Looking him up and down she noticed his left leg was half-covered, he realised what she was seeing and gave a small nod before pulling the sheet off.

She almost gasped at the sight, seeing that his leg was amputated, The bandages around it was a little bloody but mostly clean.
She was stunned for words, she didn't know whether to ask him what happened or just stay silent.
"Happened a few weeks ago, haven't gotten used to being a stump yet haha!"

"What...happened?"
He looked distant suddenly and she quickly spoke,
"You don't have to tell me! And if you've forgotten that's oka-"

"I could never forget."

Her eyes met his, they were cold and hard as if he was reliving the moment right now. His hands clenched the bedsheets, his chest rising and falling quickly.
"My brother used to run with this gang a few years ago, he left them high and dry when I'd finally gotten through to him. His old mates were furious and decided to punish me, so they kidnapped me and..."

He shook his head and released a heavy breath, grinning once again he covered his leg.

"Your sister isn't too far gone, you can save her before she falls."
"What do you mean?"
He turned his head down,

"I saw that look before in my own brother's eyes, I couldn't prevent him from falling but you still can help your sister!"
She looked away first before he continued,

"Hey...don't forget there's still time, make her remember your sisterly bond."
