Chapter 5

Jai’s P.O.V

Lily sat with her back against the side of the chair and had her legs draped over me, I don’t actually know how we ended up like this but hey, I wasn’t complaining, she was hot. Wait shut up Jai, you’ve known her for what, 3 or 4 days, you hardly know the girl, but her blonde, straight hair fell perfectly just past her shoulders and her blue eyes were perfect, she was gorgeous. James was sat next to me, Beau and Skip were on the other sofa, Luke was sprawled out on the beanbag and Becca was in kitchen getting some food for us all. Lily only invited me and Luke but James and Skip sort of followed us home and well, Beau thought he was missing out on something.

‘There you go’ Becca threw us all a bag of crisps and sat down next to Skip.

‘Come sit next to meeee’ Beau whined to Becca.

‘I’d much rather sit here, thank you very much’ Becca teased.

Wait, did Beau like Becca?

‘So, when did this happen?’ Skip asked, interrupting my thoughts, he was smiling at me and Lily, he knew exactly what he was doing.

‘When did what happen?’ Lily quickly took her legs off me.

Fuck.

‘Oh, nothing’ Skip laughed, putting his attention back to the TV.

I shot Skip a death glare and he laughed, he loved making things awkward, it was what he did best. Once everyone had started talking again Lily slowly put her legs back onto mine.

‘Just ignore him’ she whispered. Her warm breath tickled my neck sending shivers down my spine. I nodded and smiled back, time to make your move, this is perfect, just ask her out, just be casual, just don’t sound too desperate.

‘So, Lily, how long are you and Becca in Melbourne for?’ James asked.

Fuck, again.

‘3 months, as we said we’re just on an exchange programme’ she smiled. She was so pretty, come on just do it now, this is the right time.

‘Erm, Lily’ I started, trying not to let everyone hear. The TV was quite loud, but I knew Beau and Luke were waiting for something to happen. ‘Do you want to catch a movie or something? Paranormal Activity is on tomorrow night?’ I could feel my face blush and my heart started to beat faster. What if she said no, what if she didn’t like me in that way, she probably didn’t, but I mean friends can go the movies, friends who have only known each other for 4 days can go the movies, oh fuck she hates me, she doesn’t want to come, she going to make up an excuse.

‘Yeah, that’d be great’ her eyes lit up, and she smiled looking slightly excited.

Fuck yes, a sigh of relief came over me.

‘Great, it starts at like 5, so we could go straight from school?’

‘Perfect’ she leant in and kissed my cheek, making me blush once again. I looked over at Beau who was making kissy faces and Skip who was trying his best to hold in his laughter. I held up my middle finger and carried on watching the TV, I wasn’t going to let them ruin this, I liked Lily and I was sure she liked me back but I didn’t want to rush into things. Damn, asking her out in the first 4 days is taking it way too fast, but wait it’s not a date, unless she wants it to be. Argh shut the fuck up, over thinking, again. It’ll be fine.

Lily’s P.O.V

‘What the hell am I supposed to wear?’ I stressed, searching through my wardrobe.

‘Anything, I don’t care?’ Becca mumbled, not taking her eyes off the TV whilst she ate her cereal.

‘I don’t care if you don’t care’ if that makes sense ‘I care what Jai thinks, I can’t go too casual and him thinking I’m not making and effort but I can’t go too-‘

‘Look’ she cut me off and walked over to where I was surrounded by clothes ‘just wear some shorts and this top’ she held up some denim shorts and a cream jumper. I always went to her for fashion advice, I don’t know why, she just seemed to know what she was talking about. I shoved my clothes and my pair of pink vans into my school bag, we then walked out of the house to find Jai, Luke and this time Skip and James.

‘So, do you like horror movies?’ Jai asked as we walked into the cinema, he had his arm round my shoulder, making my legs go all jelly.

‘They’re okay, I just can never sleep afterwards’ I laughed.

‘Same, they scare the shit of me’ he agreed. We walked over to the counter and paid for our tickets then walked over to the screening.

We sat near the back but we could have sat anywhere, the cinema was empty, it being a Wednesday afternoon didn’t help I suppose. The film started pretty quickly and looked pretty similar to the other 3 paranormal activities. As the film went on I started to slide down in my chair, I hated suspense and this film was basically an hour and a half of full on tension. Jai put his arm round my shoulder again and pulled me closer to him, he could obviously see that I was scared, but I could see his big brown eyes were shit scared too, what a gentleman he was being though.

‘Omg that was ridiculous’ I said to Jai as my eyes adjusted to the light.

‘It was good though, you got to admit’ he smiled.

‘hmmm’ I laughed. We walked down the road, grabbed an ice cream from the small shop and went and sat on a bench, looking over the sunset.

‘I’ve had a really good evening, thank you Jai’ I licked my ice cream, I chose normal vanilla when Jai chose chocolate, which was now all over his face. I started to laugh at what he looked like.

‘What?’ he said.

‘You’ve got a bit of erm’ I laughed as I pointed to the chocolaty mess all round his mouth.

He turned slightly red and wiped it off using the back of his sleeve. I smiled, at him and his big brown eyes stared into mine, he looked down at my lips then slowly leant in. Our lips touched and started to move slightly in sync, after about 5 seconds we pulled away, he smiled at me and I leant my head on his shoulder. My stomach was filled with butterflies but my head was filled with fireworks, what I had just experienced was perfect, he was perfect.

I know there's hardly anyone reading this but yeah, I've sort of got my storyline going now
