Into the light

Chapter 1 - The beginning

One day, I was in the library, and I saw this glowing light. Like any normal human, I walked to it. Now, I have a very big imagination. But, I swear it was real. Now as I was saying, I walked towards the light, but as I looked in, the light sucked me up and I landed somewhere with a thud. I looked around to see little people with pointy ears. Frightened, I screamed and fainted. I woke up a little while later to see myself on a bed, and with a beautiful dress. I wasn't the type of girl who liked to wear dresses, so I got up to look for my own clothes. I found them in a dresser with my phone, headphones, iPad, and a hoodie. I grabbed my phone to call my parents to tell them that I had been kidnapped. But, there was no cell phone service. "Figures," I said to myself. All of a sudden, I heard voices coming from outside. "We need to do something about the girl, the boss will not be happy that we saved her, especially after losing his wife." "His wife?" I mumbled under my breath. I heard the door open a little bit, so I threw everything back in the dresser and jumped on the bed pretending to be asleep. The people walked in and they said that they should wake me up. I was soon thrown to the floor, and I let a small "Ouch" escape my lips. I looked up to see monkeys looking down at me. One of the monkeys said, "Come on let's go." In shock, I said "You can talk?" grunt "Of course we can talk. What would you think that we can't?" replied the second monkey in a rude and mean way. "It's just that where I'm from, monkeys don't talk," I replied. "And where are you from because if you are from the human -" he asked "No need to be so grumpy Charlie," the first monkey said cutting him off. Now the first monkey looked at me and asked, "Hi I'm Sam." "Hi, I'm clarise," I replied. That night, Sam came to my room and sat down on my bed. I could tell that something was bothering him. Something was wrong. "You need to escape," he said quietly under his breath. I looked at him not moving. "You need to escape Now." He repeated with such force that I quickly got my clothes, and other belongings and set them on the bed. "Why?" I asked. Sam looked up. "Look," he said as he gently took my hand. "You need to escape. I can't tell you why but, there is a great danger here, and I'm risking my life for you. I don't know why but, I am. Something has to be done in this land. Someone has to stop him. And that someone is you." a million questions were running through my head. Why Me? How do I save this land? Who's him? "I can't tell you who he is, '' Sam said. I realized that I must have said that out loud. I looked over at the door. Sounds were coming and they didn't seem too happy. "Come with me," I said to Sam "I can't they will try to look for you and this is the best way I can ensure your safety." he continued "I will meet up with you in 20 days' time at the clover garden just north from here. I must warn you. The people there are not to be reasoned with. You need to watch your back. Trust no one." he quickly let go of my hand and walked towards the door. "I will hold them back as long as possible for you to escape. Now run and don't look back." I grabbed my things and took a pillowcase off of the pillow to make a bag. I ran towards the window and stopped. I threw my stuff on the floor and gave Sam a big hug. "I looked him in the eyes, and said, "Thank you." And with that, I ran and never looked back
