Why is World Hunger being a problem? World Hunger has been a huge problem throughout the world. Millions and millions live with hunger and malnourishment because they simply cannot afford to buy enough food, or they cannot afford nutritious foods or cannot afford the farming supplies they need to grow enough good food on their own. It is a problem that should be able to be solved easily, yet there are still over 842 million people who suffer from hunger worldwide. With the population growing up over seven billion, yet you would figure we can produce enough food to feed the people of earth. Hunger happens everywhere, not just in one country. We see it more in the southern countries, but it is happening right now in your town as you read this. Hunger is caused by many things, including poverty, natural disasters like a hurricane or tornado, and war. There are many people who don't realize this is a major problem and many of the world's population is dying.

Ninety-eight percent of people who suffer from hunger live in developing countries. The country of India has the highest population of hungry people, with over 190 million people. Did you know that nine million people who die of world hunger each year? About 60 percent of the world hungry is women because of the limited access to resources because of the societies they are living in. (Project, 2018)

There are a lot of countries in the south that are in the world hunger mix. For example, probably the worst one out of them all in Haiti. Haiti is considered the poorest out of all the countries in the western hemisphere. While dealing with natural disasters and political issues have made matters worse. 55 % of the people are living below the poverty line. The situation in Haiti is not so great, three-fourths of Haiti's population is living on less the two U.S. dollars per day. (Mehrotra, 2015)

Another country that's not doing so well is South Sudan. After decades of war South Sudan, finally gain their independence from Sudan in 2011 which ended one of the longest civil wars in the world. Over seven million people (almost two-thirds of the population) are becoming severely food insecure. In 2013 another civil war broke out between the president of South Sudan, Salva Kiir and his vice president Riek Machar. In 2014 there were 1.4 million people who fled their homes to avoid another civil war. By this time there were about four million people which were about one- third of South Sudan's population faced shortages in food. Also, the fighting interrupted farming season, which made their food expensive to buy. In 2016 we saw as it made international news, refugees from South Sudan began to cross into Uganda. By 2017 the number of South Sudanese refugees in Uganda has surpassed one million.  (Vision, 2018)

As there are only two examples in this paper about countries in the south who are deeply in need of assistance to help fight hunger in their county. There are many and many more who face these problems as they continue to develop and figure out what they need to do to correct the situation at hand for them. Countries in the south have more chances of being in poverty than the north countries. Especially the developing countries are involved with world hunger. Whether it was a war or political issues countries are seeing rapid growth in poverty and rapid growth in deaths as their citizens are dying due to the fact they don't have the necessary amount of food or supplies to grow their own food.

Here in America, we faced hunger and poverty, but not quite as bad as countries like in Africa or Asia. About one in six people in the United States face hunger issues. But our issue is not due to the lack of food, its due to the fact that poverty in the U.S. is becoming higher and higher. With gas prices going up and houses becoming more and more expensive. The people of the United States are not able to pay for it. Increasing the chance of families becoming below the poverty line. Not only, as gas prices and housing has gone up, but each state has a different minimum wage and people are working two to three jobs a day to keep food on the table for their children and try to keep them afloat on the poverty scale.

Countries in the north versus the south are probably not as bad when it comes to world hunger, but they could be as time goes on and on. In the north, they deal more with poverty than hunger. Although some cities have a problem with hunger as with poverty.

There are many solutions to help solve world hunger. One way is to donate food, by donating food you're giving the people of countries who need food to help them achieve self-sustainability. In all seriousness, the Hy-Vee in Perry needs to start donating food. As a member of their team, the store wastes more and more bread every week. Just the other day, we threw away over 150 loaves of bread. There must be a way to donate the loaves because there must be a way to help at least the city of Perry's food pantry. Because there are some people who live in my city who could use the extra food because they don't have enough money to afford it. All in all, by donating food we could help people who need it more.

Another possible solution to help solve the world's hunger problems is providing proper education to all aged children. By providing the necessary knowledge and skills to help them achieve dreams that they thought they would never be able to achieve. Also, by providing them with education it can help them get the knowledge to have a sustainable job to help grow the economy.

This solution needs you to be involved. There are many organizations like; The Hunger Project, Bread for the World, Hunger Task Force and Feed More. There are a lot of companies and organizations that help achieve the goal of ending world hunger, but they need more people to help spread the word and to help achieve the ultimate dream goal of ending World Hunger. Now it's not going to take just a day or a week or a month, but the people of the world could work together to establish a system of aid and support for those countries that need it. But also investigate its own country and see what they can do for their own population that is poverty.

At the end of the day, we are all humans and we need to help other humans no matter what color or race they are. Just because they are homeless doesn't mean they don't have feelings. These people could be starving and you're just sitting there laughing at them as you and your friends walk by. We need to stop the stereotyping of homeless people. These guys are just like us normal human beings, but things didn't turn out right for them, but we can help them, but donate to a soup kitchen or volunteering at a soup kitchen.

In Conclusion, World Hunger is a huge problem that affects everyone in some form. Some countries are not so great, while others are doing okay. There are a lot of people who are in this certain circumstance and it wasn't their choice to be in it. Most of the problems that cause this were either war in the country or political issues that forced the citizens do not have the necessary food or supplies to establish a self-sustaining life. Hopefully, one day we will see the world overcome this serious problem and establish a system that everyone can adapt to and help them achieve balance throughout their country.
