with a mocking salute, jimin watched the rest of the members filter towards the door, a smirk playing at his lips. "aye aye, captain."

namjoon, or their boss some liked to tease, grunted. "i'm serious, jimin. no games." and jimin couldn't be mad at the untrustworthy look in his eyes, not with his record. he shrugged a shoulder as if saying, i guess we'll find out.

jeongguk stepped around him, two guns nestled tightly against his muscular thighs, but not without smacking a firm hand on the elders shoulder. "little shit, gets to lounge around all day." and jimin scoffed. the long list namjoon had left him would probably be working him even after all the members returned.

after a short briefing of their plans, namjoon managed to get all eleven members of their inner gang- seokjin preferred the term hustlers- into their appropriate cars and on the road, leaving jimin to himself in their work house.

he took his time setting up his computer knowing they wouldn't be at the cite for another seventeen minutes and thirty-one seconds. he even had the time to make himself some coffee, lord knows he was gonna need it.

surrounding his main computer sat two more laptops, all projecting different information needed for their heist. it was meaningless to him right now, not that he'd ever tell namjoon that. until he heard one of his members voices asking for assistance or he noticed they were going off track, he trusted they could do it. just like they have been for years without a hiccup.

jimin waited, eyes glued to the screen, until they were all at their destination and had entered the cite according to plan before switching to his secondary duties. of course, not without turning up his microphone.

"jesus, how long are you going to just stand there?" he'd felt his presence minutes ago, choosing to ignore it until he was sure everything was going smoothly.

a small huff, "how did you know i was here?"

"it's my job, babe."

taehyung rolled his eyes and fully entered their house lounge. "you're on babysitting duty today, hm?"

"don't flatter yourself, sweetheart."

taehyung came up beside him, much too close if you were asking jimin, and peeked over his shoulder to view the notes he was currently writing. "studying then?"

"you could say that."

"you got a test or something?" it forced a snort from the elder but he didn't confirm or deny. taehyung slid into the bar stool next to him, mindful of the papers he'd scattered out, and rested his his head in his palm.

see, it's been a long time since jimin's been on tech duty, almost two years. call it a blessing in disguise, but their usual tech guy just so happened to be in the wrong spot at the wrong time which landed him in the hospital. and for jimin, their second best for this job, that meant he was promoted.

he gave a careless thumbs up when namjoon told him the news. he liked working field, had trained years for it, but a break like this was nice too.

there were a few things that came with the job, he had to map out their next deals. meaning- when it would be, where it would be, who would be there, plausible outcomes, and if it were worth it. easy enough. while the members were on the field, he was to observe the whole time to make sure things run smoothly and possibly warn them if he sees something they can't. simple. there were a few other minor jobs that he could easily manage.

kim taehyung was one of those jobs.

kim taehyung was many things. he was a tease, he was the same age as jimin, twenty-three, and he was a sweetheart.
