Just as dawn set over the small town the population began to fade, most disappearing away into their homes. A lone boy sat in a coffee shop, drink in hand and a small frown adorning his countenance. The shop was meant to closed minutes ago but no one had the heart to kick the boy out. The staff whispered among themselves about the strange, sad boy, arriving at the conclusion that the poor thing had nowhere to go. They all pittied him and shot him worried looks, however the boy's eyes were only on his coffee as a tear or two began to leak from his eyes.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a hand reached forward to wipe the tears. The boy froze, looking up slowly through gilded eyes. "Wh-" the boy was cut off by a charming smile from the stranger. It was one of the workers in shop. His face was dirty but his smile was almost blinding to the point where everything else faded to the background. Kofi couldn't think anymore, his layers of spiraling thoughts came to a stop the second that smile emerged. It was such a small thing. The smile of a kind stranger made his heart flutter and his own lips twitch in the ghost of one. "Thank you." He whispered to one in particular once he opened his eyes and the boy had disappeared.
