Vivian plans to fly back to California the next day, she wants to talk to Orlando as soon as possible. She knows she owes him an explanation. And he deserves to know what's going on. He's been good to her since they first met.
She knows leaving him is the right thing to do. One, she's in love with someone else, who happens to be her ex husband. She knows she never would have left Jordan had she not been through such a traumatic event right before. And Orlando was the person she had been able to turn to during that difficult time. She did love him, but her heart had always belonged to Jordan.
Second, Orlando had suddenly started talking about wanting children of his own. And she couldn't give that to him. She wanted him to be able to have all that he wanted. She never wanted to hold him back.
There were also some rumors she'd heard from a mutual friend. Vivian was not the kind of woman who ever listened to rumors. She always trusted the men she had been with. She did wonder if there was any truth to these rumors. This mutual friend had said she worried Orlando was getting to close to his co star on his new film. Vivian was told that he was spending a lot of time with this young actress. Vivian had to wonder if that's why they seemed to be reverting back to the friendship they'd shared for so long.
Vivian never thought she'd hope there was truth to those rumors. At least then she wouldn't have to feel so bad for what happened with Jordan.
Jordan took Vivian to the airport the next morning. They had no idea when she was coming back. There was no plan for them to see each other again. She would be back in California as long as she needed to be. This worried Jordan, he worried she would change her mind and not come back to him. But Vivian had no doubts in her mind, she would be coming back to him.
When Vivian got home Orlando wasn't at there. She decided to go to the movie set to talk to him. He was filming a scene when she got there. She actually really enjoyed watching him act. He was such a great actor, she loved how much emotion his face conveyed in his acting. He was so believable.
He was doing a rather intense love scene with the co star Vivian had heard the rumors about. She picked a spot to watch from where she knew he wouldn't see her. The scene was hot. And Orlando was definitely believable. The girl was either really into Orlando or a really good actress. The way they kissed for the scene seemed so real. It's hard to imagine how actors can do these scenes and not feel anything.
When Orlando finishes the scene he and the actress are laughing together and whispering to each other. Now Vivian thinks maybe the rumors are true. Vivian walks out from where she'd been watching, when Orlando sees her he immediately takes two steps away from the girl. Vivian does not miss this reaction of his. "Hey Vivi, when did you get back?" He asks her as he embraces her and kisses her cheek. He introduces Vivian to the actress from the scene he had just done. "Maggie, this is my wife, Vivian. Vivian this is Maggie." They shake hands. Say their pleasantries and Vivian turns back to Orlando, "Do you think you can get away? We need to talk."
"Yeah, I can see if we can break for dinner. Is everything okay?"
She just shrugs. Orlando gets a look in his eyes, almost like he knows. He tells the director that he needs to go on break. The director gives them time for dinner. Orlando doesn't have a lot of time and Vivian isn't sure if now is the right time. She was really hoping they could go home and have some privacy and time alone to discuss everything. But right now her only options are either wait until tomorrow or get it over with. When she tells him they can wait until he's done for the night and talk when he gets home, he says he'd rather do it now.
He walks her over to his trailer and they sit down when they get inside. She's suddenly nervous. She doesn't want to hurt him. But prolonging this will only hurt him more. So she jumps in with both feet.
"Lando, I hate that I have to tell you this, but something happened with Jordan while I was in Boston. I didn't mean for it to happen, it just did. But it made me realize I'm still in love with him." Vivian felt terrible telling him this, tears welled up in her eyes. This was so much harder than she thought it was going to be.
Orlando though did not look or act surprised. "Vivi, I always knew this day would come. I've always known you'd go back to him one day and maybe that makes me wrong for being with you in the first place. But I had to take the chance when it was offered to me. I can't say I'm not disappointed or a little sad about this but all I ever wanted was for you to be happy. And I hope you were happy with me. But I've always known you and Jordan belonged together."
Vivian is astounded by his words. She can't believe he's being so good about this. She knows he really loves her because all he wants is for her to be happy. "Lando, I do hope you mean what you're saying. And I hope someday you'll be able to be my friend again. Because I honestly can't imagine you not being a part of my life. You are such an amazing man and I really hope you find someone who will love you the way you deserve to be loved."
They decide to leave things like they are for now. Vivian will file everything they need to file to get things started. Then they'll have to take the six months cooling off period before they can finalize everything. They also say they can talk more later so Orlando can get back to work. They hug and kiss, probably for the last time and say goodbye.
Vivian's heart does feel heavy as she leaves the set. She pulls over at the first gas station she sees and cries. She knows she's made the right decision because Jordan is the love of her life. But that doesn't make it less upsetting for doing this to Orlando. He proved what a great guy he is though, by making things easier for her. When she finishes crying she calls Jordan.
He answers her on the first ring. "Hey babe, how'd it go?"
"Hi, it went good. He said that he wasn't surprised, he said he knew this day would come someday. He said he's upset but just wants me to be happy."
"Wow, really? He doesn't hate us? Or moreover, hate me?"
"No, he wasn't even mad. He was really nice about it."
"Okay. So when are you coming home?"
