It was a quiet night, nothing particularly interesting happening. Abraham Gray walked around, his calm features hiding what he was truly feeling, fear. He sighed shakily, " I won't lose you princess..." he murmured placing a hand on the crystal rose that held his most precious treasure, his beloved, Kairei. Cathy had callously shot the girl, and left her to bleed. " my love, I will not give up on you, so please... PLEASE.... PLEASE. keep fighting... you are far too precious for me to lose... I can't lose you, I just can't..." Abraham broke down now, crying silently for his little goddess. He looked up at her face. It was, and always will be to Abraham at least, the most beautiful thing in the world. The others hid. " I've never ever seen the old man like this..." zack murmured softly. Ray nodded. " zack..." she said, looking up at the bandaged fellow, " how would you feel... how would you feel if you lost me?" " well...." zack breathed out. " I... I wouldn't really know what to feel..." he said. He sighed. " I would scream... just scream.... if I lost some one precious..." Danny said. " she didn't deserve the hand she was dealt, she was trying to protect Gray, like I've seen her do before... but this time.. the little goddess may not make it...."Danny whispered.

A few weeks earlier....

" hahahahaaaa you stupid little girl.... die" Cathy said as she attempted to shoot Kai in the heart. Gray gasped " Angel, please don't...." he begged Kai not to move. " you think your so GREAT, so perfect, with all your little TRICKS..." Cathy said, smiling like a madwoman. " well you ARENT... your just a naive little girl trying to play a grown ups game... aren't you, little one? hm?" She had her finger on the trigger. " now die...." Cathy smirked as she fired the gun. It hit the mark. Kai fell forward, coughing up blood. Gray gasps " KAIREI" he said bolting forward. He caught her and looked at her wound. " oh no, no my beloved... no, no please... please my love stay with me..." Abraham begged softly. Kai smiled weakly. " my love, there.. nnnngh.... there is no need to worry.... I... I will love you for eternity... and beyond that.... heh...." she panted then died in his arms. She was then encased inside a crystal rose. Gray did not know what to think.... let alone feel, as he saw her get placed inside. He simply cried silently and turned to Cathy. " I hope you, Catherine Ward, are pleased with yourself... I am going to lose her now, thanks to your petty jealousy..."

Present day- six weeks later

Abraham stood in his usual spot. He held a box in his robe pocket, and paced. Slowly, the others returned to their hidey hole " he hasn't left..." ray said. Zack shook his head. " nope...." he ruffled rays hair before turning to watch, and gasped. The rose began to slowly open, and the liquid began to drain away. Gray continued to pace, seeing the liquid. He looked up. He gasped loudly. Kairei stood in the centre of the flower, and opened her now midnight blue flecked eyes. " Abraham... ABRAHAM!" She said flying towards him as fast as her legs could carry her. Abraham gasped and took her up in his arms, kissing her face " my princess... my beautiful princess.... your alive... oh your alive...." he spun her around. He looked at her. " look at you... so beautiful" gray said. The others smiled while Zack pretended to barf then smirk. Abe held the box, putting Kai down. " Kairei... losing you... you, the one who has lit up my life, brought me joy... the one whom I will love and treasure forever... it was the hardest thing I've ever had to endure... it made me realise how much I love you, and now I wish to spend the rest of my remaining days with you..." Gray opened the box and Kai gasped. " so, Kairei..." Gray kneeled.. " Kairei Flynne Satara.... will you be my wife...?" At this, Kai cried joyfully. " YES..." she said. " I will be yours, Abraham Gray, now and forever, and forever and always..." she said. Abraham smiled and put the ring on her finger. The others cheered silently as the couple kissed " I love you..." they both said at the same time. In the hidey hole, zack blushed and placed a light kiss on Rays forehead. She too blushed.

It looked like life was looking perfect.... Kai smiled. " we look to our future now..." she said. " indeed..." Abe smiled and kissed his dearly beloved for a second time.
