Past:
He doesn’t deserve her love, he’s oblivious to it anyway, why should she waste her love on a loser like Naruto when she could love someone who reciprocates her feelings. Ever since we were kids I noticed how she looked at him, full of love, and amazement, but she hated me, she only looked at me in disgust. I remember one time I went home crying to Itachi because of her.
(Flashback Activate)
“Itachiii!” I sobbed into his shirt. He placed a hand on my head and I looked up at him.
“Sasuke, whats the matter?” His voice was calm as I tried to quiet my cries.
Tears still ran down my face as I sniffled. “She... cut... her... hair.” The tears came heavy again.
“Sasuke.” He said gravely as he crouched in front of me. “What happened?” He demanded.
“I was at the academy... and there was this girl, Hinata, I told her I liked her hair. I guess it got around that I liked her hair then all the girls had it long like hers. The day after that she cut her hair!” I hid my eyes as the tears ran down my cheeks.
Itachi stood up, his hand on my shoulder, serious now. “So why are you crying?”
“Because she doesn’t like me.” I whimpered.
“Sasuke, you are going to live in a life where people hate you, despise you, even want to kill you. You can't cry every time. You have to use that.. that hate.. to make yourself stronger.” His voice was firm, his eyes showed anger. He must’ve noticed I wasn’t satisfied with this answer because he sighed and softened his eyes. “You shouldn’t live your life looking for bonds anyway, Sasuke, they make you weak, they give your enemies ways to destroy you.” He turned away from me then. “Go, run along, Sasuke.”
My tears had stopped running by then and I looked up at my brother. “‘Kay.”
(Flashback End)
A week later Itachi massacred the Uchiha clan, leaving one survivor, me. When I was little I used to make myself believe that Itachi killed our clan to rid me of bonds and make me stronger, now I know that he just did it just to see if he could.
So now I sit here in this class room as Iruka calls out names in threes to pick out our squads, Naruto, just moments ago stole my first kiss, the kiss I was saving for Hinata if she ever wanted me. I silently hoped her name would get called with mine. My hope died when she was put with Shino and the dog boy. Iruka went down the list and I heard Naruto’s name along with Sakura’s. Naruto whooped as Sakura groaned. Oh Kami, please do not-
“And Sasuke Uchiha.” Kill me now.
Sakura jumped with joy as Naruto was the one who was grumbling. This is horrible. First I lost my only chance to get closer to the only girl I ever felt anything towards. Then my squad is filled with my greatest rival and my biggest Fan Girl. I cant imagine us doing anything productive together. And they’ll surely set me back in achieving my lifetime goal, and that dobe will without a doubt steal Hinata’s attention from me... that is, if I ever get her to notice me as a person; a person who loves her and accepts her for who she is.
Present:
“I-I love you Hinata-chan, and I know you hate me, but can you give me just one chance, tonight, can.... can I take you out to eat or something?” I asked, my heart beating in my chest. I swallowed, my mouth going dry waiting for her answer.
“S-Sasuke...” I winced at my name. “A-are you asking m-me on a d-date?”
I nodded, looking down at my feet. “You can say no if you want... I don’t ca-”
