Hi guys, it's Farjana here :)

Well, I dunno what I was thinking when this story came to my mind, but I really felt inclined to write something like this... So... Please check it out and tell me what you think. Lots of love!

"I told you, I already made my choice. Whether you agree with it or not, the choice is already made. I love you, Mom so don't take it as I'm leaving because of you, because InshaAllah I will come back."

The boy gave his beloved mother a kiss on the forehead, and walked out of their Sterling Heights home. As aggressive as he tried to act, his mother knew it was just an act. She watched helplessly as he blinked away the tears, his back turned to her, avoiding her pleading look. She knew he would have changed his mind if he could have, but she also knew that attempting the impossible wasn't worth it now. She understood. After all, she is a mother.

Daniel speed walked to his car, a Chrysler 300C. It was a gift from his father. It's also reason he's leaving home.

He couldn't stop thinking about how much he hurt his mother, and the guilt tore at his heart.

She understands. I know she'll support me.

As he got into the car and revved up the engine, he couldn't help but take a moment to reminisce about everything he was about to leave behind, especially his mother.

It's gonna be a damn long road ahead, but Allah will guide me. He always does. And I have Mom's prayers supporting me.

He made a mental note to call his mom first thing tomorrow.

As he drove out of the gigantic parking lot, his hand unconsciously reached into his pocket as he pulled out the letter he received from his father. He had memorized it by now, reading and rereading it too many times to even remember.

"Daniel. Hope you're well. I know you must find it surprising to have been sent a letter from your dear old father, but, as you may know, there's always a first time for everything. I'm sorry for sending you such an alarming message all of a sudden, and so close to your birthday. But this letter is sent as an explanation. Later today, you will receive a large "package", and please accept it, for you will need it for something I will request of you. Daniel, I know that you may hate me for not being in your life. Actually, I know for certain that you hate me, and I cannot object the least. I know how it feels for a son to grow up without a father-" Daniel crumpled up the paper in his pocket, his emotions threatening to spill all over again.

"Your grandfather was not around for me, so I know what you are going through. But please, I so not want you to think I did this on my own choice. This was not what I wanted. If I had a choice, I would live my whole life with you two. This is why I have sent this letter. Your mother does not even know of the reason of why I had to leave, and I so wish that I could have shared this with her. But since it could only do but hurt her, I have decided to keep her out of it. Daniel, with the package you receive, another note will be attached to it. It will describe of the mission that I am asking you of to embark on. I feel that I owe you and your mother a explanation of why exactly I wasn't able to spend my life with you two. Please know that you may not find me at the end of your journey, but remember, this is only so that you can piece together the puzzle of our pasts."

Later that day, the package had arrived, as Daniel's father had promised. It was the Chrysler. The note was attached, and even before he was able to digest the vastness of the gift he received, he tore open the small brown package containing the note, and read it.

"I hope you have received this safely in its proper place. This note is attached with a set of directions to send you to a specific place. From there, you will receive another set of directions to arrive somewhere else. Please note that each of these places hold a significant value, and you will receive important memories at each place. You must look for them, because it was not safe to just keep them in the open. These memories can be in any shape or form, so remember to keep an open mind. Good luck."

He had made his mind right then and there, and his mom had given in. From there, his journey started. And his father had sent him on a crazy goose hunt. But Daniel was prepared.

"You must first drive to Grimmhour Lane. There will be a key on the outside of house number 264. No one will notice you, but be aware of your surroundings. The key will be there, but you must find it. Enter the house, and you'll know why I'd sent you there."

Daniel steered the wheel to the left, weaving through traffic, his mind on his father's wishes and his mother's prayers.
