Gun was still off doing who-knows- what and that left (Name) with another batch of debts to collect and in turn people to fight off. She made use of Daehoon and his goons this week and it lightened her work load significantly. She didn't trust them with the money or Gun's name so she used them for intimidation instead. People coughed up their money a lot quicker after seeing the weapon wielding gangsters behind her.
Even though he was off doing his own thing Gun still sent (Name) a task she needed to get done. It was separate from debt collecting and he warned her to be more careful when going about this one. He needed her to find Johan Seong another potential successor. He told her Johan was the head of a crew called God Dog in Gangbuk. Gun gave her a tip as to where he might be. He couldn't be completely certain of that though and that's why he needed her to hand deliver the letter to Johan. She asked what the letter was for and surprisingly Gun let her know, the letter told Johan what he needed to do next to prove himself a worthy successor.
(Name) didn't waste time and decided to start her search that same day. She went to the address Gun gave her and sure enough the boy was not there. Although he wasn't there, there was another person she recognized hanging around. His fiery red hair and those darkened glasses would stick in her memory forever. She had to breath a bit to calm down. There was no reason to be worried about him because her first payment was made and the next ones were sure to go the same way.
It was easy to tell herself that but when he turned and saw her her heart jumped into her throat. The lump wouldn't go away and all the while he got closer and closer. The loan shark's collector in charge of getting her payments stopped before her. "Miss. (Name) it's nice to see you again so soon after our exchange. Still $50,000 to go, but I'm sure you've got it covered, right?" he said much too smooth for her liking.
She felt as though her words would come out as a strangled mess, but it didn't. "Of course" she said with all the confidence she did not feel. "I'm sorry to cut such a fortunate chance meeting short, but I have a lot of important work to do and it's getting late" she said stepping to his side.
"I understand. I should really get back to work myself. Have a good day Miss." and like that they both left.
Driving away from the scene in her car (Name) chewed on her (lip color) lip. She still felt a little shaken by her meeting with the collector. He wasn't a man that was meant to be met outside of certain set times. He was just too unpleasant a sight she didn't want to have to do that again.
(Name) tried to shake the dreadful feeling but only got the job half done. She had to push it to the back of her mind, however, as she arrived at her destination. It was a small convenience store.
She had contacted Crystal hoping she might have thr means of finding someone either directly or through one of her connections. Crystal did and even luckier for (Name) was that she had the person with her at the moment and Crystal said she'd help her.
Walking in (Name) saw a bunch of kids who she assumed were around high school age. Inside was Crystal, the guy who beat up Daehoon, a blond guy, a girl with short hair, the store clerk, and a younger kid with purple hair sitting on the counter.
The kid was barking orders until he saw (Name) walk in. "Great a customer! Like we need you here right now" (Name) deadpanned. If she was a customer she definitely would have left at that.
"I see I'm interrupting, but I'm here to meet Crystal," she could see Crystal move to answer but she was cut off.
"We're using her right now so you'll wait" the kid said.
(Name) rolled her eyes at his rudeness. "Fine middle schooler do your thing and I'll wait". He seemed surprised. (Name) guessed he normally gets more push back for being so young and rude.
He made a little sound of victory and sitting in the middle of a bunch of computers explained how he was making money for himself. He started hitting buttons and looked like a creepy little gremlin which he no doubt is. "We use the fake deposit to charge fake points. But we apply for a pay out and change it for real money" he says walking over to the ATM, and taking out a wad of money from it "Let's take every cent". The precede with their plan and the kid, named Kouji as (Name) found out, sends another short kid out to collect money from different ATMs in the area.
Leaning against the store's counter (Name) was pretty amazed by what just happened. Kouji turned to her clearly proud of himself. "Aren't I amazing" he was gloating to her.
"Yeah, that was pretty amazing," (Name) fed into his ego. Judging from what just happened she had a pretty good idea that he was who Crystal was talking about. "But I came here for business. I think I've got a pretty good idea of who you're referring me to, Crystal. It's Kouji here right?" Crystal nodded.
Kouji pouted "Don't think my services are free!"
"Really? Even I have to pay" She asked leaning towards him. She could see him fluster. (Name) thought it was cute how he developed a crush on her so quickly. She chuckled quietly "You know I could be your bodyguard if you help me. Crystal could vouch for me, I've worked for her."
Kouji was still resisting "I don't speak broke."
(Name) could feel herself getting annoyed. "Awe, come on. You just made a bunch of money, and I really need the help" she said. Kouji couldn't withstand the onslaught of praise that followed. With (Name) feeding his ego so much he caved in and asked what she wanted.
