IT HAD BEEN TWO DAYS IN THE HOUSE, and lexie felt like she was losing all fucking senses of sanity, she could not get over the fact that she keeps feeling an odd sense of familiarity in the house.
like... she had been there before.
she had to scramble her batshit thoughts out of her mind because it was dinner time.
and it was safe to say dinner felt like a punishment.
lexie sat at the edge of the long table, barely touching her food. everything about the house made her feel like she was sitting in the middle of someone else's life. kate kept trying to smile and act like everything was normal. mrs. grose was making small talk. flora was humming to herself with her hands folded in her lap.

he let out a short, sarcastic laugh, still glued to his screen. "i don't need a job, sweetheart. i live here. you, on the other hand, are one breakdown away from a cinderella storyline."
kate's fork hit her plate with a sharp clink. "can we just eat in peace?" her voice was tight as she flickered her gaze between the two teenagers.
lexie's jaw tightened. her whole body stiffened.
"you know what? fuck this, i'm not even hungry" she slammed her hands on the table, preparing herself to get up, causing mrs. grose to gasp at her vulgar use of words,
"language!" the older woman shouted, but was drown out by everyone else around her. kate gave a pleading look to lexie, "come on, it hasn't even been five minutes." she said to her,
