"Not happening," I answered as soon as my brain processed the words he uttered.

Bahagyang tumaas ang kanyang kilay. "Why not?"

He was oozing with nonchalance. I couldn't believe him.

Okay!"I nodded to myself. Agad akong nagsalita.

He shook his head and snorted. It's like he didn't find my reason reasonable enough. What the hell is wrong with him?

I went on with my litany.

I already had an automatic zero on our supposed quiz last time, at first time kong ma-zero sa isang quiz!

Ezzio was crossing his arms, watching me with unmistakenly bored eyes. Parang hinihintay niya lang na matapos ako. Nevertheless, I continued. This time, hindi ko na mapigilang mag-rant.

"Pangatlo, hindi ko gusto 'yang sina-suggest mo—"

"That wasn't a suggestion," he interrupted.

Think about your parents!

"Have you had your lunch yet?"

He cut me off. I paused. But then, his question made my mind blank and all I could do was shake my head slowly.

Oo nga, 'no? Hindi pa nga pala ako kumakain.

I hadn't even said a word yet when he suddenly grabbed me by the wrist and started walking, dragging me along with him.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Though walking alongside him, I still had a hard time keeping up with his pace.

It's as if he had enough of my whining.

"Paris, hindi ka pa nanananghalian," he said. "Heck, for all I know, you're probably starving. You shouldn't have come here in the first place."

He didn't give me time to speak. I wanted so bad to resist but I know it would be useless. His hold was tight and besides that, I don't think I could change his mind anymore. Something about him screamed finality.

Just a few minutes later and I found myself sitting opposite to Ezzio. May sementong mesa sa pagitan namin. We were under the shade of a tree. I was crossing my arms while watching him grab his first bite. I hated myself for feeling a bit of anticipation.
