Chapter fourteen

It was the weekend, I slept in slightly past 9. I scowl as I realize I can't get back to sleep without struggling.

I groan and throw the blankets off of my body. I get up and get dressed in my exercise clothes.

I head out the hall and to the bathroom to brush my teeth and more.

After I finish getting ready for the day I head downstairs. Once I get to the first floor I quickly exit the building through the front doors.

I've started going on morning flights during the weekend to keep my muscles and wings busy.

I take off, once I'm above the tree line I can see the large line of dorms and the huge main building. I pace myself slowly and gently soar around the main building.

As I was just about to reach the end until something slammed into my side and took the air out of me.

I was about to attack but I heard a calming voice.

"Relax kid! I'm just kidnapping you for a secret meeting" I move my head from the chest and above his shoulder.

I see two large scarlet red wings.

'Chicken wing hero? Isn't it Hawks?' I thought.

"You know this isn't how you greet people right? Especially people who are being trained to fight villains?" I adjust in his grip so I don't fall.

I feel us slow down as we approach the building from the side. We land on the window ceil and I'm carefully let down.

My feet touch the carpet below me and I turn around. I see Nezu and Aizawa standing in the small conference room. I step forward and look backwards.

Hawks hops into the room and closes the window. I heat up my hands a little and furrow my eyebrows.

"What is this? Another ambush or something?" I ask confused with some anger.

"Miss (L/N) please relax" Nezu says. "We want to discuss a secret opportunity for you"

I loosen up and stop my quirk. I cross my arms and look at Aizawa.

"What is it?" I ask.

"We talked about it and there's no way you can safely stop talking to the villains. So we came up with an idea" Aizawa says.

"You're going to be working with me!" Hawks says happily.

"I'm sorry?" I ask still confused.

"Hawks has been working undercover with the villains for a while now. We assume the reason the league didn't have you guys meet or talk about each other is because they could get caught" Nezu says.

I pout my lower lip slightly as I think of how this could work out.

"So basically, continue talking to them, get information, then bring it to you?" I ask.

"That is very simplified but yes. You shouldn't push them to answer questions but just continue to talk to them as if you were going against us instead. Get them to trust you more and find out any future plans, if there's anything you feel you need to report, come to me immediately" Nezu says.

I scowl slightly,

'So he wants me to betray them basically?'

"Now, Hawks will give you more information when you exit. Please fly out and make sure no one sees you both" Aizawa says.

We both nod and Hawks opens the window back up. He exits first and I fly out after him.

"Alright kid what do you want to know?" Hawks says as we soar quietly.

"How long have you been with the league?" I ask.

"I joined a bit after the attack with Overhaul" he says thinking, "You?"

"I joined after All Might's uhhh 'retirement', they captured me and I gained their trust. Well really Dabi's trust first but yeah all of them" I explain.

"Dabi trusted me first too, even though he's a villain he seems to trust people easily" Hawks says.

"Yeah, that's kind of odd" I mutter.

"Do they all trust you? Do they still contact you?" Hawks asks.

"I'm pretty sure all of them trust me, also yeah they contact me still. It's more of a text or call then they teleport me or transport me to wherever they are" I say.

"Even Shigaraki?" Hawks asks.

"Hm?" I hum in confusion.

"Even Shigaraki trusts you?" Hawks clarifies.

"Oh," I think about everything he's done for me, how he comforted me in the hospital, how he said he'll kill anyone that fucks with me, how he transports me to the league just to hang out.

"Yeah I would say he trusts me" I say a bit happily.

"I'm shocked, he's very cold with me. I don't think he's said anything to me ever, he just glares at me" Hawks says.

"That sounds like something he would do" I giggle slightly.

"Well kid, we can't let the league know we know each other like this unless the introduce us" Hawks says sternly.

"Aye aye captain" I say sarcastically.

"How often do they contact you?" Hawks asks he leads me to the top of the main buildings.

"Uh it used to be every couple weeks but it's been more frequent" I say following him.

He lands on the top of the building and I stagger next to him. I pant slightly as I catch my breathe. I stretch my wings and enjoy the view.

"Listen kid" Hawks says catching my attention.

I look over at him.

"These people are villains, they kill people and won't hesitate to get to the top. I understand you're a bit younger and you may let your emotions get to you" he says a bit darkly.

I shudder a bit at his sudden change of tone.

"These people need to be stopped before we are all killed. You can not hesitate to betray them if there is a possibility people may die. Remember you are a hero, that's our job, we save people. We don't let them die because we are friends with the ones killing them." He finishes.

I look off into the distance and think of the possibility that innocent people may die, however thinking about the league getting killed stings a bit more.

I look back at Hawks, his hair flowing with the wind over his glasses. I look into his dark eyes and I feel a connection.

I nod my head and purse my lips.

"Ok, I won't let you down"
