Mikasa's POV

Those screams were heard on one eerie night. I woke up to my father's screams that would never leave my mind. I walked to their room, and I saw a bloody mess. Mother and Father were scattered in the room. The strong wind blew inside the room, billowing the curtains up. Above, the light began to flicker. Someone killed them... and it just never got through my mind. I never thought that this was one of the few moments when I realized... I didn't know how to feel sorrow.

"Mikasa." Slowly but surely, I perked up from my desk, seeing nothing but a girl. Her blonde hair was tied up in a small bun- just tied up. "Here's your missing work. Historia told me to give it to you. Don't miss any more classes. I don't want to be caught up in this... mess."

I nodded, taking it by hand. Surprisingly, there was a new writing on the paper. "Who wrote this?" I read it and it seemed to show a phone number... as well as a name. "Eren... Jaeger...?"

"Some new kid." She says with a cold shrug. "He's been worrying for a classmate he never met. Such a surprise." She then walked away, retreating to her seat. Class hadn't began yet, and already, the students were filling up.

A pair of boys came through, chatting up a storm. This blonde boy smiles, and then... it turned away when he saw me. His hands quickly tapped the other one, pointing to me. Yes... point out the one girl who was never like the others. Soon, the brunet boy turned his attention to me. His emerald eyes did not seem to dislike me.

The bell rings, and those boys ran inside to take their seats. From time to time, the brunet boy kept giving me these... curious looks. For once, his gaze wasn't the kind of gaze that struck me for what he saw me. They were... kinder. Curiously.

I tried to look away, but those beautiful... green... emerald eyes... they haunted me. When I looked away to the board or my paper, I had to go back to seeing him. How his brunet hair was matching milk chocolate pieces. Frizzled a little, but it seemed... nice. My eyes couldn't be lifted from him. This boy... could he have been the one?

"Mikasa, just tell us the truth." A man in a uniform spoke coldly to me, slamming his fists on the table. The female had to stop him. "Mikasa, you are the only one who was in that room. You're covered in their blood. If you don't tell us the truth, you will be put away."

"Jenson, please. She's a child."

"A child- she could be put into a juvenile detention. I need to ensure that she will not stay there forever. Besides, we need to eliminate the fact that she could've killed someone before considering a murderer that left no trace there."

The woman sighed, shaking her head. Her eyes were full of fear- like she didn't want to believe the words that came from a child like me. Was I really that bad of a child to be looked down like that? Even my father never gave me such looks as those. When I did something that wasn't normal, I was never yelled at. Never punished. Mother explained to him that I was a child with special needs.

"I didn't... do anything..." I whispered under my breath, and I could feel the anger rising from the two of them. But the female... she understood. "I don't know what or who killed my parents. I was sleeping... and Father screamed."

"Your father screamed?"

I nodded. "Yes."

The man looked to the female, shaking his head. I disappointed them. "Why wouldn't the mother had screamed? It's not normal. Usually, it's the women who scream and usually the men who are killed first."

"Let's get her out of here first. Get her ready for her debut in court tomorrow morning. She's the star pupil."
