You know how they say never say never...
Jacob said he'd never be the type to attend a high school reunion, but there he was standing in front of his mirror, smoothing over his suit with hands. He smiled at his reflection, but mostly he laughed at himself for agreeing to attend his 15-year high school reunion with Hari. He thought about all the obnoxious conversations he was bound to have. He thought about how he could talk about his former modeling career and then discuss his new quieter life as a school counselor, which he was very much so enjoying. And maybe that's why he agreed to go to the reunion. He worked with kids everyday in a high school and part of him wanted to get a taste of his own experience once again.
Walking into his old school felt odd, luckily he was immediately greeted by Hari and they quickly found Adam. "This is exciting," Hari smiled. Jacob nodded and then rolled his eyes as he noticed Alivia approaching them.
"OMG Jacob Bixenman, hi!" Alivia said.
"Hey," Jacob put on a polite smile.
Alivia looked around, "So, are you here alone?"
"I'm here with Hari and Adam."
"I mean no girls in your life?" Alivia teased.
"Nope, still gay. Thought you'd get over that by now," Jacob said. Before Alivia could respond, Hari took Jacob by the arm and pulled him away.
"We aren't here to argue with ex-girlfriends," Hari said.
"She started it," Jacob replied. Adam shook his head and laughed. The three friends got drinks and found a table.
"How's Jed?" Hari asked Jacob.
"He's great! Just saw him last week, busy being Jed," Jacob smiled. Soon two guys, one with a female Jacob didn't know were sitting at their table.
"Cory! Ryan!" Jacob said, "how are you?"
"Great," Ryan smiled.
Cory nodded, "This is my fiancée, Freida. Freida that's Adam, Jacob and Hari." Frieda smiled at the three.
"Soooo," Ryan said, "you all look the same."
Hari laughed, "Ya, you too, Ryan."
"These things are so awkward," Jacob sighed. Everyone nodded. It was then that Adam's eyes went wide.
"He didn't graduate with us," Adam said.
Everyone turned to look at the door and that's when Jacob saw Troye for the first time in over 10 years. Well at least the first time in person, Troye had gone on to have s successful music career and even acted in some movies, so it's not like Jacob hadn't seen him. That being said, he never expected to see him in this capacity.
"Oh," Ryan said, "technically he did. I guess he did some distanced learning after he stopped coming to school after he fucked Eric's brother and yet," Ryan pointed to the door, "there's Eric and his wife. I heard he heads Troye's security."
"That's Kayla," Hari said looking at Eric's wife.
Ryan nodded, "Ya I guess whenever Eric reconnected with Troye, he got back with her." The group watched as Kayla took Troye by the hand and led him to a table in the corner as Eric went to fetch drinks.
Kayla was all smiles and it seemed as if Troye was more so just plotting how to survive the night. Jacob turned his attention back to Eric and noticed as a few former football players approached him to chat. Eric smiled and nodded towards the table where Kayla and Troye were sitting.
"Fucking vultures," Ryan laughed, "haven't spoken to Eric in like forever and yet of course they have to get their in with the whore of Hollywood."
