I CAN'T ANYMORE.
These words were painted on the wall in the blood of the now deceased police officer, Mr. Martin. The man was 30 years old with no previous history of depression. He was an eligible bachelor and its a shame we lost him.
That's it. These were the only words that were dedicated to the good old officer who my dad was going to replace. What a mess!!!
My name is Kelly Skyler.
My Dad recently got deported to this third world place Buskin. With the population of maximum 3000 people this has to be the official definition of small town. my dad is a police officer and he recently got promoted to the place of sheriff here, dad decided that this would be a good start for us both. My mom cheated on my dad and when she got caught, my dad fought hard for me and my brothers custody but only got me. My big brother decided to remain with mom.
When I first arrived here, it looked bleak. Empty roads, dense forest surrounding our house, everything you need for a B grade horror movie. I was never really close to my family, especially my dad, but I am still glad he got my custody. Yes, I miss my mom but not like I would've missed my dad.
Tomorrow will be the first day of the school, I hope it is unhappening.
SCHOOL
Students poured out of the building as the bell rang, everyone gossiping about their vacations and fun while I stood there, my eyes still adjusting to the horrible weather conditions. In Buskin, rain was like flash mob, it could happen anywhere and anytime. My clothes were soaking wet and dad wasn't here yet, you could say my dad was a happy man but ever since that incident, he hasn't really been happy. I can see the difference between one of his forced smiles and real one. So I waited to see that grim tight lipped face of his, driving around the block in his police car.
Growing up, I was always fond of cars specially his police car. I used to go plead to him to take me in his car while my brother preferred his own bike. In a normal high school, you will see kids crossing roads without ac are, shouting and screaming, destroying school properties and most olf all bullying.
But none of that happened, it was pretty straight forward, no leering at girls with short skirts, actually now that I notice it there were no girls with short skirts, everyone was fully dressed like no chains or ragged jeans, simple and sober. It was so simple that it looked weird, my black top and blue ragged jeans stood out, maybe that's why that weird guy was staring at me during the whole class.
It had been a busy day at school, the curriculum here is tough and would take some time getting used too but I can do that. I applied for the news magazine of the school but it seemed boring, infact this has to be the most boring high school of all, no mean girls, no football guys no noting. Now its really weird, but then it is a small town and I have read that these small towns often have big religious groups and maybe its like that, no one knows.
And my dad finally arrives, trying to give me that force smile. I force smile back and start walking towards his car when suddenly I crash into someone super hard. I am about to swear when the guy hushes me and says sorry, its the same douche who was staring at me in lunch. But now that I look at him clearly, he is kind off cute. I can't help but blush and stare as he picks up my books, my dad seeing this exchange honks his horns as a warning and I snap out of my trance and hurry up in the car behind him.
He stares at me till our car disappears on the curve.
