You sat in the parking lot of the school, trying to stomach a smoothie you made for breakfast. Recently you felt like all the time you spent was used to catch up on what had happened previously, and you were getting sick of it. All the intensity, it tired you out. You were desperate for a break. Jasper had promised you he'd see you tomorrow, and though you looked forward to it, you were also nervous. There was no guide on how to proceed from here, no book you could read. Intuition was all you had, and you weren't sure how much you could trust it.
There was a knock on your truck window, and it startled you so much that a bit of your smoothie splashed out of your jar and onto your lap. You cursed, scrubbing it quickly off of your now stained jeans. You screwed the lid on tightly before glancing up, meeting eyes with Jasper. He had an amused smile on your face. You rolled down your window, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. "Hey."
He smiled at your greeting. "That's all I get?"
"You made me spill my smoothie.. that's definitely all you get."
He let out a quick laugh, glancing down. "Can I come in?" He asked quietly, his eyes flicking back up to yours. It took you a moment before nodding. He walked around, sitting beside you in your car. His hand brushed yours. It was cold as always. "I held up my promise." He said with a small side-smile.
You let out a breathy exhale, rolling your eyes. "I suppose you did."
He looks down at you. "I got you something."
You raise an eyebrow, confused. "What's the occasion?"
"...it's a memento of.. our newfound friendship." He decided, waiting for your reaction.
You oncemore let out sigh-laugh. "Well, let's see it then."
A grin melts onto his face. You liked when he smiled. He was so handsome that it seemed the slightest actions made your heart speed up.
He pulled out a tiny silver box, and held it out. You slowly picked it up, opening up the silver to reveal velvet red cushioning on the inside. On top of the velvet sat a necklace. It was a white oval, with little blue flowers delicately painted inside.Your eyes widened. "Oh Jasper.." the rest of the words caught in your throat. You looked up at him, your mouth parted slightly in awe. "It's- it's so beautiful."
"It was my mother's. My.. real mother's." He said quietly, before smiling. "It's a forget-me-not."
You smile too, still in absolute awe.
"Here, lets get out of your truck and I'll put it on you."
The two of you climb out, and you wait for him to loop around to your side. He comes up behind you, softly brushing your (h/c) locks away from your neck. His soft, cold skin sent shivers down your spine. Slowly he reached around, clipping the locket onto your neck. You situate it, holding it close to your heart. You turn back around, only to drop your smile. Jasper didn't look okay.
"Jasper.."
"It's so hard." He whispered, looking away. "It's shameful."
You reach up to place a hand on his shoulder. "Jasper, no. It's okay. You're trying the best you can.. I see that. And I'm thankful for it."
He lets out a small, sad chuckle.
"I'm glad you think so. I don't deserve to even be able to speak to you."
You shake your head, getting closer to him. He doesn't back away.
"Jasper, no. I'm the one who doesn't deserve you. You're perfect, you're everything... Ive ever dreamed of." You trail off, realizing you probably said too much. His eyes shoot to yours, piercing you with that golden gaze.
In one big rush, he grabs your waist in one hand and puts the other on your face. And then, the unthinkable happened. He leaned forward, his lips meeting yours. They were cold, and yet, made you feel so warm. The softness of them seemed to make you melt. He held you in his arms, pulling you even closer as he kissed you.
Finally, he pulled away. You let out a shaky breath, stunned. Now red as a raspberry, you glanced up at him. His hand was covering his mouth. He looked at you cautiously, almost alarmed.
"I- was that okay? I don't know what got ahold of me.." he murmured, and you just let out a laugh.
"Jasper.. that was more than okay."
He sighed in relief, a smile now creeping onto his lips as well. "Shall I walk you to class, m'lady?"END OF CHAPTER 11. CHAPTER 12 TO FOLLOW! Sorry this was kind of a short chapter, but a looooot happened ;) hope you enjoy! Please give it a star if you can!
