Charlette's POV
''This is so exhausting! Tammie, get your ass up and help me. I can't do all of this heavy lifting by myself you know.'' I tell Tammie who's sitting on the nearby sofa.
Tammie, being my best friend since middle school, doesn't like the fact that I'm moving to the country aside for my new job. '' Why can't you just get a decent job at the post office or something? You don't have to move so far away from where you grew up.''
If only having a job at the post office would pay bill!
''Tammie we've began through this over a million times. I got a good paying job as a personal assistant to an alpha in another pack. Since I left our pack, I've been searching for a new one. Be happy for me ok?''
''I am happy for you, but I'm also worried. I heard a lot of rumors about that alpha there.'' Tammie says.
''What type of rumors?'' I say sounding more curious than I want to let on.
'' I heard he's possessive and he never smiles. He also has no manners and he's like hella strong, plus dangerous. Everyone fears him because of his power.''
''Oh common, '' I say. ''Those are just rumors started by a whole bunch of people that gossip.''
He can't be that bad.
''Maybe I should come with you. You know...just in case those rumors are true?''
I understand the why Tammie is being so protective now. It's only because of how much she's going to miss me.
''No Tammie. You have so much going to you here. I mean, your opening up your own pet shop and you have a loving boyfriend that cares for you so much! You can't leave that behind just for me.''
There's a silence for a little while before Tammie starts to speak.''You have everything packed. The rest of it is being shipped right?'' she asks, tears already in her eyes.
''Yeah...well I guess I should be going now. I want to make it there by 10pm. Give me a hug before a go?''
''Of course!'' Tammie replies, rushing over to me to give me a spine breaking hug.
Soon, I'm already on the road heading towards my new future. I brand new start where I can become a better me. But, I still can't shake the feeling that what Tammie said was true about the alpha. What if he is a womanizing jerk?
Don't get ahead of yourself. It's all going to be fine. You worry too much. He can't be a bad as she said she's heard.
