The school year is divided into two semesters in South Korea. The academic year in South Korea begins during March and ends in the middle of July (1st semester) and starts again in August, ending in mid-February (2nd semester).
I plug my headphones in, and made my way down the sidewalk. It's quite chilly in March. Although I tend to always be cold, no matter the time or weather.
My friends and I are quite active in our grade, we actually have a wide range of different personalities. I am President of the Student Council, practically any decision or idea has to be passed through me to be a final decision. Technically, I am a second principle, our main is always away, so my friends and I are left in charge.
Looking up, I stopped for a few seconds, I arrived in time seeing as the train stopped in front of me. The doors open, cautiously I slide in and quickly grab the railing to keep balance, a few moments later we begin to move again. I take a look around and I see someone I don't recognize, he's wearing the uniform but he has to be new. How can he be new without me knowing about him?
No one gets registered or even enlisted, without my say so. I squinted at him to get a better look, he must've sensed me staring because he glanced up and looked around. I quickly averted my eyes before he could see, but I could feel that his gaze landed on me.
A few moments later the train came to a halt, forcing its doors to be open and allowing me to step out and continue to school. Once I passed the entrance, I see my friends waiting, one being hyper, another being lazy, and the other glaring at those who went by.
As I approached they took notice of me and began to gather their things.
"Heyo Sadako!" my hyper friend Tohka exclaimed as I stood before them.
"Hey." Naoko said sighing. "More people to hate this year."
I nodded in agreement as I was enveloped in a bear hug from our lazy friend, Kotomi. We slowly made our way through the doors, changed our shoes and went to check homerooms. I don't know why we never check for ourselves when we assign students to classes, it always seems to slip our minds and we end up mixed up.
I glared at the board on the wall seeing that I would once again be separated from everyone. At least Tohka and Naoko are in homeroom together. Kotomi is two grades under, so she didn't seem to care whose homeroom she was in since we would never be in the same one.
We all bid each other farewell and agreed to meet up for the entrance speech as we split to our designated rooms. I slid the door over and gazed in, everyone was already happily chatting but I did see several seats empty. I made my way to the second seat near the back by the window. Everyone was avoiding eye contact as I walked in holding my head high.
Some seem frightened of me, while others seem annoyed or even fascinated. I keep strict rules and high class at this school. I deem it necessary to keep it clean and respectful here. My friends happen to be my look outs as well, keeping a close eye on everyone for me.
Naoko Amano. She is our tall and quiet friend who glares at everyone who crosses her path. She is captain of the Judo and Kendo clubs. With us four being at the top of the school many have labeled her The Knight, putting her in charge of the schools activities and keeping the schools security on point.
The teacher stood at the front of the class, allowing me the time to stand and signal to bow before sitting back down. He then began roll call and informed us of today's events. I gazed around the class calculating and determining who is all in here. It seems we have a couple of the troublemakers, Jung Hoseok and Kim Seokjin.
