Klaus' trip to Italy with Rory was rendered useless as soon as he heard of Elena Gilbert killing Connor. They had taken a flight out the day after Connor's death, but there was one little good thing that came out of their trip: they had managed to receive the hunter's sword. However, according to Klaus, it would be useless without the hunter's tattoo that was the map to the actual cure. All in all, the hybrid was unhappy with the sudden change of plan and Rory was indifferent. She had thought more and more about it, and she didn't even know if she wanted to be human again. There were also the side-effects of the cure that she was sure would come into play soon enough—there was just something wrong about taking a cure for vampirism without a but, wait at the end.

"I can't believe Elena killed someone," muttered Rory as she tossed her hair into a ponytail as she made her way towards Klaus' car, her luggage handled by the Original. "I mean... I knew that she would have to do it someday, but I didn't think it would be so soon. I can't imagine how she feels."

"Well, it comes with the territory. I'm more so worried about the side-effects that come with killing one of the Five," Klaus responded as he opened the trunk of his car, tossing both their luggage inside. Seeing Rory's look of question, he quickly answered. "The Brotherhood of the Five were created to hunt vampires. If a vampire were to kill them, then... let's say they'd return the favour. I wonder if the hallucinations have started."

"Hallucinations? Oh my god," Rory frowned. "So, Connor's going to basically make sure that Elena kills herself as revenge? Since she's the vampire that killed him?"

"Smart girl," Klaus opened the passenger door for her. "Not that I have any concern for that—you needn't worry your pretty little head about it. She'll be fine."

"What? No—if its hallucinations you're talking about then Connor's ghost is obviously going to conjure up something super fucked up to make sure that she kills herself," Rory turned to face him. "We have to go and get her; we have to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid."

"I'm sure the Salvatores have got that handled," Klaus brushed her off indifferently.

"Be honest—do they even know that a vampire hallucinates things if they kill one of the Five?" Rory asked, looking up at him. Klaus simply stayed silent. She shook her head with a scoff. "You're unbelievable."

"But they'll find out soon enough," Klaus argued. "Maybe she'll have done something stupid by now, and they would have gotten the memo."

"Take me home," Rory demanded as she clambered into his car.

"You can't see her,"

"Like hell I can't,"

"Rory, the spirit of the hunter will torment her until she has no choice but to either stand in the sun and burn herself or stake herself in the heart—Elena will act irrationally upon her guilt, and I don't think that you, the mirror image of herself, showing up would do her any good. It's not just her life that would be endangered; it would be yours,"
