chapter 1

*stars pov*

I was in the car with my dad driving to our new house in cottonwood california, “we’re here” he says i open my eyes and look out the window to see this nice sized house on the corner of the street, “ what do u think?” he asks  “looks nice i guess I said while grabbing my bag “well get use to it , go look inside “ he told me, I just nodded my head and went inside and the living room was pretty big, a nice kitchen, i saw the master bedroom was downstairs so I went upstairs and saw two bedrooms and a nice bathroom ^nice a bathroom all to myself^ i took the bigger room “the other room is gonna be for storage” my dad said while carrying a box into my room “the movers will be here soon, '' he said  and walked away. A while later the movers came and started to bring in the furniture once my bed was brought in I started making it and then the rest of my furniture was brought in so i started to set up my room, after about two hours my room was done, I heard my dad walking up the stairs “pizza is on its way’ he said and walked away, i waited for pizza after I ate it I went to sleep  

*the next day*

I woke up to my dad calling me “it's time to wake up and get ready for school” he yelled, i groaned and got up, I put on  a cropped black long sleeve shirt and red ripped jeans with combat boots, I brushed my hair to wear my hair covered my scar on my eye, I walked downstairs “ you couldn't look any less emo?” my dad said  I rolled my eyes and walked to the car and waited.

*at school*

“ Don't embarrass yourself” dad told me “ don't u mean don't embarrass you” i said shutting the door and walking into school, catching everyone's eyes, i walked into the office “ oh! You must be star here your schedule and this boy will take u to your class” the lady said, I grabbed the paper and looked at the boy “lets go” he said and started walking and I followed after him “so your emo?” he asked “ no im not” i said coldly  “okay why is your hair covering your eye?” “it just does” i said “here's your class” he says i go to open the door “ by the way, my name is damon” he said and walked away, i open the door and walked into class and everyone stares “ oh you must be the new student, im miss baker”

The teacher says “class this is star our new student, be nice to her” she says “ shes kinda ugly” “ why is her eye covered” “ id smash that” “ shes kinda hot”  “ she’ll be gone in a week” i heard the comments from the students as i walk to an empty desk, i sit down and bring my notebook out and start to draw, after about a hour the bell rings and its off to math, while i was walking out three girls were walking by and pushed me into a wall “ oops didn't see u there” the girl who pushed me said and they walked away, i get up and walk to my locker to put some stuff in there and i see the three girls across from me then i see damon walking up to me “ hey how was ur first period?” he asked, i saw the girls give me a glare “ it was okay ig” i said and started to walk to my next class he followed “ soo are u like that hates the world?”  “ no im not” i said and started walking faster “ hey come on i just wanna talk while we walk to math” he said “ how did u know my next class” “ i saw ur schedule” he said i jut nodded and walked normal to class, once we got there i quickly sat own next the window, while damon sat next to me , i kept getting glares from all the girls “why do the girls keep glaring at me” i asked him “im the type they would call bad boy...its stupid i know but they all like hate any girl i talk to or even sit next to” he said i just nodded “ are u the kind of girl who keeps to herself but when stuff happens stands up for herself?” he asked i looked at him “ yeah ig” i said showing a smirk then turning to the front of the class, the teacher soon shut the door and started teaching, during the class me and damon would write on a piece of paper so we didn't get in trouble for talking  soon enough i felt like i was comfortable with him and soon class ended and he walked me to the next class an all we did was talk the whole time “welp here your class, ill be right here at the end so that we can go to lunch together” he said i nodded my head and walked into class i sit down and start to draw til class starts, i felt someone sit next to me then i see two people stand in front of my desk “ can i help you” i said looking up seeing the three girls from earlier “stay away from damon, he's mine” she said “ look im just new and don't want to deal with u damon is the one who talked to me first so im not gonna just stop talking to him just because u don't want me to, now if you'll lease be so kind and to leave me alone”

I said looking back down “ who do u think you are!” she said i looked back up with an annoyed look “im some one who wont let you push me around” i said she goes to slap me but someone grabs her arm “ its not nice to hit other people” he said she scoffed and walked away, the dude sits next to me “the names chase “ he said “ im star” i said smiling we talked at times during class “ would u like to join me for lunch” he asked while we walked out of class “ sorry im already eating with someone” i said and damon walked up to us “ hey ready to go to lunch?” he asked while him and chase stared each other down “uh...yeah sure, see u later chase”  i said while walking with damon “yeah” i heard him say “sooo what's for lunch?” i asked “well i was thinking about sneaking out and going for McDonald's” he said “yes please” i said while laughing we walked out of school and walked over to McDonald's and eat there then when it was almost time for next class we walked back and heard the bell ring right as we got to the gate, we ran to our next class as we had the same class which was biology, chase had that class to we sat down in random sets, the teacher was putting us in groups and i got put with damon.chase,and emily one of the girls that told me to stay away from damon, i sat in between the two boys while Emily was in front of us “so what are we doing” i asked “ were supposed to come up with a project for the science fair” chase said “lets do something with a volcano that fires glitter “ emily said “no” all three of us said then started to think of ideas “ oh lets do one about how crystals are made” i said “that's a good idea” damon said “i was just about to say that” emily said “ okay so lets do the research then start on the project” chase said we got to writing down stuff while emily tried to flirt with damon once he ignored her she went to chase “ can u just help with this or are u  useless” i snapped making all three of them look at me “excuse me?” she said “ im sorry but if your just gonna flirt and glare and not help i swear im gonna connect your face with the floor” i said lowly she just stared in shock just like the boys then damon started to laugh and then chase while she glared at me and started to work “ so who gonna start the project?” damon asked “ i can” me and chase said at the same time “ okay we both can” i said and went back to writing after awhile the bell rang an it was time for last class me and chase had it it was english we walked into the class and sat next to each other and waited for class to start “ so how has ur first day been?” he asked “well with two guys being friendly and helping me out, id say pretty good other than the three girls being rude” i said “at least u had a kinda good day” he said “yeah ig” i said then class started and we wrote on paper during the class. Soon last bell rang and it was time to head home, damon meet up with us and we all started talking, while walking out i had had my hoodie up and someone decided to pull it down and that messed my hair up to were my bangs moved and my whole scar was on show, i looked to see who pulled it and it was Emily she saw my scar and gasped i turned and ran out of school hearing chase and damon yell my name, all my mind could think of was get the hell out of here, i ran to my dads car and quickly got in “ what the hell has u running?” he said i looked at him he saw that the scar was uncovered and he looked concerned  “just drive please!” I said looking away, he started to drive away and i saw the two boys running out of school looking for me, I sighed and looked out the window. Once we got home I ran to my room and locked the door, a couple minutes later I hear a knock on my door “ you wanna tell me what happen” I heard my dad say “not really” i said throwing myself onto my bed, I heard him walk away and i just laid there trying to figure out what chase and damon will think they probably think im a freak “dinner is done!” i heard my dad yell i get up and go get dinner i ate the food and went back to my room and went to sleep
