~Intro/ Background~
Bach was a man who grew up in a hard household. It wasn't exactly abusive, but being a Bach held a lot of responsibility. At a young age, he was forced to take lessons on a variety of different musical instruments, and his father taught him how to play the violin. At the age of ten, his parents died within 8 months of each other. Bach had the idea that his father had died from a broken heart. His elder brother took him in and from there, Bach's career towards music began. He had received many lessons from his brother and looked up to him greatly, and left his brother's family at the age of 15. When he graduated, his voice helped him land a good spot in a school in Lüneburg. Once his voice changed, he switched to playing the violin. From there, his career led him to playing for the Duke the violin, and sometimes the organist. He worked at a church shortly after, and when he didn't get along with his students, he left for many months. When he left, he met his first wife, Marie. He had fallen in love and soon had their first child. Bach was overjoyed and immediately fell in love with his daughter. They tried to have three more children, but all three died before their first birthday. Bach was devastated and his wife had to comfort him. He had to rely on his wife for support and he soon got back on his feet and composed many songs. He left on a business trip and that same spring, he got word his wife had died.
~Story Time~
"Johann!" a man called for him. Bach turned around with dark circles under his eyes and a beer in his hand. "Man you look horrible." His friend Thomas walked up to him and patted his shoulder. "I'm sorry about your wife man. How you holding up?" Bach sighed deeply and shook his head. "I think I'm going to die the same way my father died. A broken heart." He slurred as he started to wobble. Thomas held him firmly in place and took the beer away from his grasp. "I think you've had too much to drink." Thomas threw the bottle into a nearby trashcan and took Bach's arm. "I know just the thing to cheer you up!" Thomas grinned at his friend. "We'll get you back to your place, and tomorrow you are going to come with me to my girlfriend's opera. I heard there are great singers there. No one as good as my Charlotte, but maybe it will help you clear your head a bit." Bach merely let himself get dragged along as he grumbled about his drink being taken from him.
Bach woke up with one of the biggest hangovers he's ever had. He wasn't one to drink a lot. He groaned as he reached for a glass of water he usually kept by his bed. He vaguely remembered getting home thanks to Thomas, but he doesn't remember much. He grabbed his glass and drank the water in one swift motion. He sighed deeply and slowly got up. He noticed a piece of paper on his counter and rubbed his eyes to focus.
Hey Johann!
You were so drunk last night, I'd never seen you so wasted!
Anyways, just wanted to remind you about the opera tonight
I'll wait for you on the corner of 3rd street at 18:00.
See you then!
~Your Favorite, Thomas
Bach cursed at the 'lovely' letter his friend left him. "Tonight at 18, huh? Guess that's fine since I didn't have anything scheduled today anyways." Bach looked at his clock and groaned. It was already 14:30. He hadn't slept this long since a week after his daughter was born. He sighed and got up to make something to eat since he hasn't eaten since lunch yesterday.
~Later that Night~
Bach had put on one of his suits and made his way towards 3rd street. He was only a mile or so away from the theatre, and he needed the fresh air. He walked down the street and was not looking forward to hearing his friend Thomas fanboy over his girlfriend like he always did at these events. His girlfriend could be just a side character who spoke one word in the beginning, and he would have endless praise for the woman and would think about her one word throughout the rest of the show. When he turned the corner, he saw his friend and walked over. "I'm here Thomas. Let's go already." He grumbled as he walked past the man, and into the theatre. Thomas quickly followed suit. When they entered the theatre, Bach had been there many times before for his own performances, so he just made a beeline for his seat. Thomas tried to stop him, but he gave up once he entered the seating area. Because Thomas's girlfriend actually had a pretty big role in this opera, they got seats in a box around the middle. The bigger the role, the closer the seats.
The opera had finally started and Bach sat down, ready to hear never ending praise about Charlotte, but she wasn't up first like he had thought. Instead a woman around the age of 20 took the stage and began with a beautiful voice. Bach, who had originally been leaning back in his seat, ready for torture, began leaning forward. 'Is this girl a soprano?' he couldn't see her face clearly because the stage was dark, and her voice seemed to have made the room even darker, but once her voice got higher and more cheerful, the lights followed suit, and soon he saw her face. She had fair skin and the makeup was very light on her face. Her lips shined like rubies and her eyes were like marbles in their blue color. Her blonde hair was pulled back softly, and only a few curls were left hanging near her small ears and rosy cheeks. Her voice was like an angel's to Bach's ears, and he felt his broken heart slowly being put back together. He didn't remember standing up, but he was leaning over the edge of the box, tears slowly making their way down his cheeks. He had never felt this way before. Not even with his dead wife. "Her name was Anna and she will only do the opening." Bach had to snap out of his comma when Thomas spoke. She had left the stage almost ten minutes ago, and he still couldn't stop thinking about her. "Thomas." Bach spoke seriously and stared at his friend. "What's up?" His friend asked a little worried. "I'm going to marry that woman."
