On the way home with my Dad, we had to stop by and get diapers for Cannon. I ran in the store to grab them and he sat outside in the car waiting. Once inside, people obviously noticed me and started pointing and recording. But at this point, im used to it. I walked down the baby isle and there was a girl who looked to be 16 and was pregnant. I didn't pay her much mind until she spoke to me. "Um. Do you know much about thus baby stuff?" I turned and looked at her. She had a confused expression on her face. "I know a little something. Do you need help?" She nodded her head. "I don't know what type of bottles and breast pumps I need for my baby. Im due in a few weeks." I nodded my head and glanced at the bottles. Looking for anything that said something about newborns. "Well. Here's pink, and here's blue bottles. The nipples are smaller because of how tiny your baby's mouth is going to be. Is it a boy or a girl?" She smiled and grabbed the pink out my hand. "Its a girl. I'm still stuck on the name though." She frowned and looked down. "Its okay, you still have time." We looked around a little more and I saw breast pumps that came with packs to store her milk in. "Here's the pumps for breastfeeding. This one might be best because it's for beginners and it has reusable pouches for you to stole your milk." I passed her the box and stood up from the squat I was in. "Here, take my number. If you have any questions, I'd love to help." She smiled and handed me her phone as I typed it in. "Thank you so much. Do you have a baby too?" I laughed and shook my head "No. But I helped my cousin raise his son and I have a baby brother." She smiled. "Well, my names Rebecca. I'll see you around?" I shook her hand "I'm Clay. And of course." She nodded her head and walked off. I grabbed Cannon's diapers and went to check out. That's when I got a call from my Dad.
Me: "Hey Dad."
Steph: "What's taking so long?"
Me: "Oh. Well there was a first time Mom and she asked me to help her find the right bottles and stuff for her baby."
Steph: "What do you know about newborns?"
Me: "Don't forget, I helped Kendrick raise his!"
After a few more words, we hung up and I walked to the car. There we're several people that saw me in the parking lot and I took a couple pictures but nothing major. After a minute, I arrived back at the car. "I'm never sending you in a store again." Steph said as he pulled out. "My bad im not cold hearted."
15 minutes later
We arrived back home and when we walked inside, Cannon was in his playpen. I picked him up and kissed his cheek when I smelt the stench coming from his diaper. "Dad!" He walked over "yeah?" "Change your kid-" I passed him Cannon and walked upstairs to put some basketball shorts and a shirt on. I grabbed my lucky ball that Kendrick and I used to play with and went out back to the basketball court. I practiced my jumpshots, layups, and even did a few trickshots. I heard someone walk up so I turned around. It was Ayesha. "You got talent kid. Why don't you play on a team?" I laughed and grabbed the ball, sitting on the court. "I did. But, when it came out that I was Stephs daughter, I got this fear in my body. What if people only think I'm good because of him. I want a name for myself. Ya know? I don't wanna be compared to my with everything I do. And I don't want people becoming my "fan" because of Steph. So, I stopped playing." She nodded her head and walked over to sit beside me. "Do you love playing Basketball?" I nodded my head. "Of course." She looked and me and grabbed my hand. "Then why stop doing what you love? You had talent before you knew he was your Dad. You'll have talent for as long as you live. It's not about what people think. Because, when I look at you. I don't see the daughter of Steph Curry. I see Clay Curry. A normal 15 year old girl. Who just has a famous family member." I nodded my head. "Do what you love Clay. Basketball was made for you. It's in your blood." She stood up and walked off; leaving me there to think. Soon, my Dad came out. "Wassup Clay?" I stood up and walked up to him. "Wanna play horse?" He looked at me and laughed "I never back down from a challenge!" He grabbed a ball and walked to the right wing, shot the ball, and made it. "THREEEEE" I laughed and shook my head, taking my turn, walking to the right wing, took a step back, and shot it. "Nothing but net." He looked shocked. After a few more shots, he finally spelled out horse. "Lost to your own daughter. Sad." I grabbed my ball and walked off laughing. "CLAY, come here." I walked over and he out his arm around me. "Why didn't you tell me you can play like that?" I shrugged my shoulders. "You're something serious! You ever played on a team?" I didn't even say anything. I simply pulled out my phone, and showed him my highlights from my old school. His jaw dropped. "Clay. Why did you never tell me?!" I looked at him. "You should've known. It's in my blood." I smiled and walked inside the house. I went upstairs, put away my ball, and hopped in the shower. After my shower, I braided back my hair, put on my bonnet, turned out the lights, and went to sleep.
