“Be a good girl. You mom will be here soon.”
The nurse left me alone in this spacious room alone. I heard children’s loud shouting and their footstep. I got down from my bed and I went to the window which is near my bed. I saw my friends are down there playing in the school field while I’m here in my school’s clinic. I’m here because I’m sick. I shouldn’t have eaten that ice cream yesterday. I regret now.
“You want to play with them?” Somebody asked me. It is a boy’s voice. His voice frightened me. I thought I’m alone here.
“Who is there?” I asked. My voice is shaking. Searching from where the voice is coming.
“I’m here.”
He pushed his room curtain and I see him. I feel relief.
“Why are you here? Are you sick?”
“No, I’m not sick. My friend pushed me while we were playing.”
“Are you hurt?”
“Yes.”
“Does it pain?”
“Yes.”
“Still?”
“Not after the doctor put some medicine on it.”
“What is your name?” I asked
“Ziall. What is your name?”
“I’m Anabelle.”
“Ziall? Very interesting name. How old are you?
“I’m seven. You are seven too right?”
“Yes. How did you know?”
“I got see you before.”
“Where?”
“In my class.”
“I had not seen you before.”
“It is because I’ll always sit on the back seat of the class.”
“Why you always sit there?”
“Because no one likes me. You are the first person I talked to in this school.”
“Where is your mom?”
“She will be here soon.”
I saw he was wearing something around his neck. It was in red.
“What are you wearing around your neck?”
“This? This is a pendant. Special one.” He sounds mysterious.
“Special? What makes this so special?”
“One priest gave me this.”
“Why?”
“I will tell you but you must promise that you won’t tell anyone about this.”
I nodded
“My mom told me I’m special because I can see the dead ones. If I see dead people I can get sick. Besides that, this can also bring harm for me.”
“You mean ghost? You can see ghost?” I’m so excited about it.
“Yes.”
“You got see it before?
“Yes.”
“Did you get sick?”
“Yes. Kind of.”
“I want to see it too.”
“Won’t you be scared?”
“I won’t be scared. I got watch many ghost movies alone.”
“Won’t you get sick?”
“No.”
“Okay as you say. Now I will take of this pendant and the ghost will come. If something happen to me I want you to put this pendant back around my neck. Okay?”
“Okay.”
He unfastens the pendant from his neck and gave it to me.
“Put this around your neck so that ghost won’t hurt you and you won’t get sick.”
I did as he said. Then we waited for one miracle to happen. I looked at him and smiled and he looked at me and smiled. Suddenly, his head went behind and he hit the metal holder of the bed. He is not smiling anymore. His head must be badly injured because I heard the metal sound when his head hit it. It looks like someone had pulled him. I fall down. I was so scared. I got up behind the curtain and tried to look at him. My beat stopped. That is not Ziall’s face. It is somebody’s face. It was in black. Like a skull.
I was so scared. I ran out of the room. The pendant he gave me I threw it away when I was running. I went out and asked for help.

I was too scared to go in that room again. I saw many people crowded in the room. I decided to go into the room again as there were many people there. I hide behind some students and I saw him. His eyes were closed and he lay on the bed. Teachers and some doctors were standing around his bed, talking something. His mom was holding the pendant and looked at me. I went out of the room. Still looking at him. He is still unconscious.

After one week I saw him again. The bell rang and shows that our recess time is end. I went up the stairs to my class and I saw him standing there blocking my way. I looked at him. He smiled at me and I smiled back at him. He came down and shock hand with me. This is how we became friends. 15 years passed and we are still friends.
