Chapter 24

Later on while I'm sat on the sofa, Nathan sits beside me before starting to kiss my head. He pulls me in for a hug as I look up at him confused.

"You're so weird." I tell him as he kisses my lips softly.
"You ready for your surprise?" He asks as I shrug.
"I guess." I say as he pulls a box out from behind his back.

I look at it and then look at Nathan confused.

"Nathan... its an empty box?" I question as he laughs.
"I know." He says as I throw the box at him as he laughs again.
"What am I gonna do with an empty box?" I ask as he lifts me up and carries me into the bedroom.
"Babe, that was a joke. That wasn't your surprise." He says before opening the bedroom door.

Nathan places me on the bed before going into the en suite and coming out with another box.

"I thought that maybe, you'd want to know before we check with the doctors." Nathan says as I take the box and read the words 'fertility test'.
"What?" I ask as Nathan sits beside me.
"Eva. We want to start a family someday, right?" Nathan asks as I nod, "If you take this, you'll know that your fertile. That way, if you can't carry the baby, we'll know that your eggs are fertile so we can have a surrogate." Nathan says as I shrug.
"I mean, it's not a bad idea but, isn't it a little early for a fertility test?" I trail off, "I mean, I'm not even thinking about wanting a baby until we're married." I say as Nathan nods.
"I know." He says.
"Thank you, Nathan." I say as he smiles and kisses my head, "I'm gonna keep them for when we really need to use them." I say as he smiles and kiss me softly.
"That's okay. I thought hat maybe you'd want them for when you need them. I didn't mean to take them now. I just have a funny way of putting things." He says as I smile and kiss him again.

The rest of the day, we lay in bed cuddling and watching movies. At tea time, we ordered a pizza and just stayed in bed. The most perfect evening, is exactly this.

The next day, I was woken up by Nathan singing and the shower running. I rubbed my eyes and tried to pull myself to sit up.

Once I'd finally managed to sit up, I scrolled through my notifications, waiting for Nathan to come through.

"Morning." He said as I smiled at him.
"Hey." I replied as he came over and kissed me softly.
"I did some wedding planning after you fell asleep last night." He says as he shows me the plans that he'd done, "I already chose a date but I can't set it until we have the venue." He says.
"What's the date you chose?" I ask as he smiles.
"15th July." Nathan says as I kiss him.
"You picked our anniversary?" I ask as Nathan nods.
"Of course I did. We're getting married on the day we got together, 2 years ago." Nathan says as I smile.
"That's like 6 months away." I say as Nathan nods.
"I know it's soon but, I think it's perfect." He says as I smile.
"It is perfect." I say as Nathan asks me to help him plan some more.

The next 6 months are gonna be hectic but at the end of it, everything we're doing will be worth it.
