He tapped my shoulder once more and grabbed his diamond sword. He took my hand tightly with his other and helped me up. I was about to thank him, but he suddenly just ran at full speed, guiding me through the sea of villagers.

After taking just about ten steps ahead, my knees unexpectedly buckled and threw me to the ground. Even Steve didn't see that coming, he wasn't able to catch me on time. "You idiot," he whispered, helping me up. For a moment I stood there, dazed, swaying slightly.

He sighed in irritation, replacing his sword with a loaf of bread. I was so entranced by his modulated voice that I couldn't even recognize the delicious blessing offered to me.

When I finally realized that it's food in front of me, he took it back and stared at me for a moment. "Water." He whispered. He snapped his head to the right, hearing something I don't, and forced me against the wall. "Stay here," he said, summoning his sword. He threw it to my direction and summoned a bow for himself. "I'll get water."

So I stayed as he said. There wasn't any danger, but my thoughts were racing wildly, and my vision is blurring a little. I don't know if I'm crying or not. A few minutes later, he was back with nothing in hands, but he seems more alert now, his eyes darting to our openings. With a flick of his wrist, he sent a minimized milk bucket my way.

I wasn't expecting him to get milk, and I just hope he wasn't expecting me to perfectly catch that midair, either. I was able to get a hold of it nonetheless, and I imemdiately drank up. After finishing it all up, I let out a relived and satisfied sigh. I faced him with a smile. "Tha—"

He was having none of it. Without a word, he shoved a loaf of bread into my mouth, forcing me to eat it. Just as quick, he pulled something else from his inventory and started throwing it at the ground. I screamed in shock, registering the familiar sound of breaking glass in my ears. Splash potions. Regeneration, I think, by the way by body feels better.

"Eat as fast as you can." He said, his body tense and ready to attack. I don't know what exactly is going on, or why the villagers are in chaos, but all I know is that Steve is here and he knows what the hell he's doing.

I followed his order and ate it all up. After finishing that, he gave me another, and another, and another, until I couldn't even chew anymore. He waited a few more moments for me to get my strength back, and when I was finally able to walk and run, he grabbed the end of my left sleeve and started dragging me through the havoc.

"What's happening?" I asked breathlessly. "Where are we?"

He turned the corner, almost making me smash my face into a wall. "Stay quiet." He said, pushing me against the wall with his arm, looking around. I pushed his arm off of me and peeked a little as well. "We're heading back to base, Alex will explain everything there."

Alex?

I assume that she's safe, by how composed he is right now. I want to ask, but it's better to just keep my mouth shut for now. We continued running, his hand right hand holding mine. I was mildly aware of our surroundings as we ran. There's not a single direction that doesn't have a house, there's multiple roads, wells, structures, and I can't see anything else like an open biome.

Where are we?

We stopped after running after a little while. Steve pointed upwards. "It's up there," he said. I looked up and was greeted by this tall dirt tower. There's a small hut made up with the same material, and the dirt is laddered, which is probably how we're supposed to go up there. It's quite high up, too, which is concerning. After spending some time with them, I know now that they're scared of heights.

"Step aside," Steve said, pushing me away a little. Once I was out of his way, he jumped and grabbed the first ladder with both hands. He climbed up a few blocks before looking back down at me. "What are you waiting for?"
