It was a little screwed up for Rory to plan to show up at Carol Lockwood's memorial at the school knowing that she slept beside the man that caused her death, but she couldn't help herself. She felt so... guilty. I mean, it was obvious that there was no way Rory could have stopped it or expected it even, but she just couldn't help it. Carol was someone that Rory knew since she was a kid; not to mention she was Tyler's mom. Tyler was a close friend of hers since she was in kindergarten. She couldn't even begin to imagine how he felt right now.

"Where are you going?" Klaus intercepted her as she walked down the hall, realising that it was earlier than the time she usually woke up. Rory usually woke up at 10am the earliest, but it was 8am, bright and early. Rory didn't answer, moving past him. He grabbed her wrist, turning her around to face him. "Rory."

"I'm going to the school," Rory crossed her arms over her chest.

"For what?"

"They're having a memorial for Carol. I wanted to visit," Rory swallowed thickly, shoving her hands into the pockets of her hoodie.

Noticing the guilty glint in her eye, Klaus' eyebrows pulled into a frown. "You're not feeling good about this, are you?" Klaus questioned quietly. "Rory, what I did—"

"—Wasn't okay. And I know that I didn't make it a big deal last night but I'm thinking that was because I was in shock and now that it's settled in I just... I realised that you killed my friend's mom," Rory looked down at her feet, shifting in her step. "I know you were hurt and it's a little too late for me to feel upset or do anything about it but... what you did wasn't okay."

"Tyler ran. Like a coward. I feel nothing towards men who run from their fate," Klaus responded.

"Tyler's a kid. He was scared, Klaus. Look at what you did to his mom—" Rory cut herself off, running a hand through her hair. "You know what, I don't even think there's a way for me to get the message through your head. What you did was not okay. It was Tyler you were after, so it's Tyler you should've looked for."

"You claimed that you didn't want me to change. You knew exactly the kind of man I was when you told me you love me," Klaus retorted.

"And I still don't want you to change, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy with everything you do!" Rory exclaimed. "I'm just unhappy with what happened last night, okay? Let me just be upset for god's sake, I have known Carol since I was a kid. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to attend her wake at the high school."

Rory turned to walk away, but Klaus rushed in front of her. She smacked straight into his chest. "Rory, I don't like it when you're upset with me," Klaus said.
