Nightfall. Moon risen? Check. Boy is awake? Check. He took a breath, his teeth catching the full moon. Three. Two. One. It's time. Over the garden wall, up to the house. Climbing the bricks, up to the window ledges of the second floor. Break. Climb again. Nick your finger. Keep going up to the third floor. Second window. Third... finally, the fourth. Last check. Window's open. Put on the cloak. Dark fabric snagging the light. I can't put this off longer. Time to go. And
