The Wedding

Chapter One

"It's finally here are you excited" She said. I looked at her "I couldn't be more excited" I said smiling. "Well you look absolutely beautiful" she said beaming at me. "And you are a knock out yourself" I teased. We laughed, tears forming in her eyes. "Don't cry you're going to ruin your makeup" I said. "I'm just so happy" she said. I smiled at my sister. "You ready to go?" she asked me. "yes are you ready?" I asked her back. She nodded and we walked out of the room toward the ceremony.

My heart was racing. It was the big day and I couldn't believe it was finally here. Music started to play and I knew that it was my cue to go. The doors opened and I walked into the church. Confusion and chaos was what I saw before me. People were rummaging around, shouting, and crying. Nobody noticed me enter the room. My heart started to beat faster as I started to panic. "What's going on" I said my voice cracking. "Ashley" I heard my sister say. She ran towards me. She was urging me back out of the room. "Jenna what's going on, where's Aiden?" I asked confused, stopping her from pushing me out off the room. She looked at me sadness filling her eyes. "He's gone" She said weakly.

"What" I said in disbelief. I pushed past her and walked down the aisle, looking for where Aidan should have been standing. I saw a familiar figure sitting down. "Derek" I said walking toward him. He stood up when he saw me "Ashley I'm so sorry" he said. "Where is he?" I asked him. He looked at me not saying anything. "Where is he!" I yelled. Everyone turned to look at me now. My eyes started to water. "I need to go" I muttered. People started to come towards me, but I pushed past everyone.

I ran into the room he was supposed to get ready in. His suit was there laying on the bed untouched. I looked all around for a note, but came up short. The tears came down hard and fast. When my vison was cleared I noticed that I was standing in front of the mirror. I looked at my reflection. I stood there in a floor length wedding dress, with a tear stained face. The door opened and Jenna walked in. "Ashley" she said as she came toward me, pulling me into a hug. "He didn't leave a note" I muffled into her shoulder. "What?" She asked. "He didn't leave a note" I muttered again. She hugged me tighter. "He's a jerk" she said. "I should have known, I should have seen this coming." I mumbled. "Oh honey this isn't your fault" she said giving me another sad look.

"Would you stop that" I barked at her. "Stop what, consoling you?" She asked confused. "No stop giving me that look of pity, I'm fine. What is supposed to be the happiest day of my life is the worst day of my life, no big deal" I said crying. "It's going to be alright Ashley I promise" she said hugging me again. "I love him, I was ready to commit myself to him, and have a family with him. How is it going to be alright?" I more stated than asked. "You'll see, I promise you will" she said giving me a slight smile. I really hope she is right.

2 years later

"My sweet Nick you are my air when I can't breathe, my light when I can't see, my water when I can't swim, and my ground when I can't walk" My sister said. I rolled my eyes. Seriously sis he's your ground? I bit my lip trying not to laugh. I looked over to see the best man staring at me. I could tell he was trying not to laugh himself. He nodded his head toward the bridesmaids behind me. I gave him a quizzical look and turned to look at them. Every single one of them was crying. I turned back to him and smiled. "you showed me the world, and taught me how to love. When I am with you I know everything is going to be alright. I love you with all my heart" Jenna said tears prominent in her eyes.

"My sweet Jenna, I feel so alive when I am with You. You make me feel like I can do anything. Whenever I look at you my heart beats faster and faster. Whenever I'm with you I love you more and more." Nick said. I didn't look at the best man this time, I looked at the ground. Tears started to form in my eyes, but I blinked them back. Aiden always told me the same thing. I looked back up and the best man gave me a puzzled look. I just smiled at him. When the ceremony ended everybody cheered. I could not wait for the reception. It was time to get wasted.
