My name is Taiyo Shokuji, and I am one of UA High's new first years. I... well, I guess I should tell you about myself. My quirk is called Faze food, basically if I eat something I can faze through walls and other surfaces. It's actually funny, when my quirk first manifested I went right through the chair at the dinner table. My parents weren't around a whole lot, being so busy with their work. They weren't any big heroes, in fact that didn't even bother with that line of work, they were more business people. I always wanted to be a hero though, I wanted to help people and do more than my parents. My quirk wasn't super easy to control though, I practiced day and night for years, even losing sleep later on to continue honing my skills. I eventually managed to figure out how to... not faze after I ate? That was pretty important, because before I wasn't able to eat. I mainly stuck to myself, not having any friends. I was never the most... outgoing kid? I wasn't a butterfly, so... I couldn't make friends easily. So I used my free time to train. I worked really hard, setting the goal to get into UA. I felt that... if I went there... I could become the best, and learn under great teachers how to control my quirk! I went into the entrance exam, having prepared for so long to take it... I hardly expected to be fighting robots, but it all turned out okay! I mean, it was really hard because the robots were huge and I never fought anything of that size, let alone anything at all... I kinda sucked really bad because of that... It was amazing seeing all the kids who would inevitably become my classmates, all had different quirks, and different ambitions... it was amazing to see everyone work so hard, kind of inspiring. They were so much better than me, I knew I had a lot to compete with.

I managed to get in (I wasn't really sure why though because I didn't kill robots left and right like some people did, but I must've killed enough to be eligible for the hero course), but.. after all the events that the previous first years endured, we were required to move into the dorms on campus. My parents... didn't seem to care what I did? They let me go no issue. So I moved into the 1-A dorm, feeling honored because that was the class that got the most television representation the previous year. It did leave me a lot to live up to though, because those kids were amazing. They were what people looked at when they thought the next generation of heroes. Despite the seemingly constant villain attacks, they always came out okay, even if there was injuries. We moved into the dorms about a week before actual classes started, and in that time we were allowed to settle in and travel the campus to find out classes and just get used to the area.

That's when I met them... the Big Three... they were third years at UA and were the pinnacle of what third years could be. They were the top of their class in strength and... were nothing less than incredible. They were so kind and uplifting! They were the top hero candidates in all of Japan and were just awesome! I... felt at home with them. They seemed to want to make me comfortable, which I didn't not understand. After all they were third years, why would they help a random first year like me? I was absolutely nothing compared to them! Oh- I Uh... should probably tell you their names, huh? Mirio Togata, Tamaki Amajiki and Nejire Hado... I didn't know how close I'd be to them at the time, it didn't take them long to tell me why they were meeting with me. It was my quirk. Mirio and Tamaki had learned about it from the spectators at the entrance exam, and wanted to take me under their wing personally to train. They figured no one could help me learn to control my quirk better than the two who had the most similar quirks. Nejire had only come along for emotional support for Tamaki, but also to help me feel comfortable. She was a sweet lady, and just seemed like the mom of the group.

Mirio's quirk let him faze through walls while Tamaki's allowed him to transform into the creature of the food he ate. So... it really seemed like my quirk was just a combination of theirs! I began to train with them whatever chance we all got, and they helped me hone my skills so much. I didn't even realize it at first but... the way they acted with me really reminded me of parents, it wasn't before long that I started to consider them as my dads... they showed me kindness and care that I didn't get at home. I felt... home when with them... comfortable... Mirio even helped me make a few friends in my class and I eventually went to him for advice when-

"Hey, don't give it all away already, heh."

oh! I'm... getting ahead of myself...

I'm sure you've heard of the number one hero, Deku.. and I'm sure you've heard of Lemillion, Suneater, Nejire-Chan, Ground Zero, and so many more... But have you heard of the team Faze and Echo? Well... I'm Faze, and I'm going to tell about my team came to be, how we met, among other things... but I feel some events before I met Echo are important as well to the story, so we're going to start the story from when I met Lemillion and Suneater... when my journey to become a hero truly began. This isn't the story of how we became number one or the greatest, that resides with Deku, or Izuku Midoriya who I've had the pleasure of meeting thanks to Mirio, but this is a damn good story if you ask me.
