Dila stepped down from the stage. It had been a long time since she deejayed but the excited chants from the crowd seemed to indicate she was still at the top of her game. Her group of friends cheered for her and as she made her way towards them, her gaze instinctively sought out Kuzgun. There he was, in the back of the club, watching her intently. She'd asked him to wait by the car, but he obviously hadn't listened.
Their eyes met. His harsh words from yesterday rang in her ears once again, not even the loud music could drown it out. In his childhood Kuzgun had been sweet and gentle, sometimes chastising her for being too silly but never cruel, and definitely not brutal. But last night he'd been both, screaming at her to stay away from him. In all of the dreams she'd had about his return, she'd never imagined he would change so much.
Forcing herself to look away from Kuzgun, she glanced at her group of friends standing a few feet away. Forget Kuzgun, she reminded herself. She was going to have fun tonight and not think about him, even if she could feel his eyes boring into her.
Few minutes later she and her friends headed to the bar, and they downed four shots each within a span of minutes. Usually she wasn't a fan of vodka, but after yesterday's incident with Kuzgun she was in the mood to forget her troubles. Soon they were dancing, and she began to feel more carefree, giddy even. Her body swayed to the music, her mind whirling with joy.
Kerem, a casual acquaintance, wrapped his arms around her from behind. He wasn't dancing himself, but it was obvious he was enjoying her moving and grinding against him. She turned around, looping her arms around his neck. His eyes were bright with adoration. Dila knew he'd always had a crush on her and even though she'd never entertained the idea, tonight it didn't seem as crazy. He was handsome and sweet, and she wanted to spend time with someone who liked her and made her feel good about herself.
He leaned in closer, whispering in her ear. "Want to get out of here?"
Suddenly he was torn from her arms, and she found herself staring at Kuzgun who had shoved Kerem aside. The anger in his eyes was explosive, his jaw clenched. Without uttering a word he gripped her hand and started dragging her away. She contemplated fighting him but decided to follow him instead, enjoying his reaction. For someone who'd just screamed at her to stay the hell away from him last night, he seemed very eager to get her attention now.
By the time he'd hauled her up to the roof, she was laughing. Even more so when he trapped her against the wall, his intimidating presence looming over her.
"What are you doing?" he demanded furiously.
Eyebrow raised, Dila leveled him with a mocking gaze. "I don't need to justify my actions to you."
"How does it look when you let some guy maul you in front of everyone?"
A defiant laugh escaped her lips, she took a step closer towards him. "You sound jealous."
He rubbed the back of his neck. "Don't flatter yourself."
She pressed herself against his body, standing so close she could feel his breath against her skin. "You yell at me to stay away from you and then you get angry when I flirt with other guys. Why is that, Kuzgun?"
His eyes trailed down to her lips, staring at her so possessively it knocked the wind out of her lungs. For a moment she caught a brief glimpse of the boy she loved, the Kuzgun who used to be hesitant to do things until she either did it first or gave him the encouragement he needed to make the first move. Before she could talk herself out of it, she closed her lips over his.
At first he froze, standing still, and then, just as she was about to pull back, he responded to the kiss with an urgency she wasn't ready for. His hands gripped the back of her head, he advanced forward and suddenly there was no space between them, only frantic movements of passion and longing. She palmed his face, groaning into his mouth as he kissed her thoroughly. Only a few seconds ago she had been feeling cold with the nippy night air but now her body was on fire, her blood coursing with desire. He tore his mouth away to lavish her jaw, her neck with kisses, pulling off her red jacket and she took the opportunity to remove his coat.
