Author note: sorry this chapter has taken so long to write. It's a long one, and with everything going on right now, I've been very overwhelmed. But, here we are now. I hope you enjoy. Most of this chapter is mainly just pulled from my imagination, because it was never included in detail in the books or movies. Either way, I tried my best to make it seem real and fit. Enjoy!

Jasper clutched your hand tightly, his foot pressed down hard on the gas peddle of the sports car Edward had loaned him.
After the incident, Jasper had instantly whisked you away, not even letting you pack.
"I'm not risking it." He had told you.
You texted Anthony, since it seemed he was the only person you could reach at the moment without having to actually explain what was going on.
"Tell my grandparents I'm visiting my parents for me. It was a spur of the moment decision, and I'm too busy to call them myself. I'll be in Seattle for awhile so, just, grab homework for me."
You pressed send, sighing and clicking off your phone. You yourself weren't even sure what was really going on. The whole family has been in such a rush that things were quite literally a blur.

You glanced down at Jasper's hand entwined in yours, and then glanced up at his face. Occasional cars sped by, illuminating his pale skin. His face was hard to read. Intense as always, but this time.. something lurked behind it. He was quiet for so long, that when you finally broke the silence the sound of your own voice startled you a bit.
"Jasper what is going on? where are we going?"
He sighs softly, glancing over at you and giving you a half-hearted smile.
"We're goin' away. Far away." He murmured, his accent poking through a bit more than it usual. That seemed to happen when he's stressed.
"That rat, James.. he'll kill you if we stay there. We need to get you out of town until my family can kill him first.. and then we can return."
You pause, shocked at the blunt and serious tone of his voice.
"You still didn't answer my question.. where are we going?" You murmured, a bit of annoyance creeping into your tone. He noticed it, but did nothing.
"Back to my home. Texas."
Your eyes flew open wide with shock.
"Wh- I- you're just casually taking me to Texas? When were you going to tell me?"
He huffed out a small sigh, glancing at you. A wave of calm washed over you, and you tried to fight it off to no avail. "No fair. I'm still pissed at you, you know." You grumbled, sighing softly. You had to admit though, if he was willing to drive all the way down to Texas, he must be serious about this whole thing. You uncrossed your legs slowly, taking small precautions to show him you weren't quite as annoyed anymore.
He noticed, a small smile creeping towards one corner of his mouth. He took a shaky breath in, and it startled you. He didn't normally do that.
"Are you nervous?"
The question made him let out a hot gust of a chuckle. "Nervous? I suppose you could say that...
(Y/n).. I haven't been back to my home since.." he trailed off. "Well since I left the first time. It's.. strange. And- I'm worried about you."
He placed a hand softly on your knee, rubbing his thumb in small circles. It made your stomach flutter.
"Jasper.." you trail off, wanting to be able to comfort him. The truth was though, this was just as nerve-wracking to him as it was to you.
You weren't even sure how you were going to get away with missing school and not telling anyone. Hell, you didn't even have anything packed.

You had fallen asleep at some point during the drive. It had been a good hour or so until Jasper softly brushed your shoulder, humming to wake you up.
"(Y/n)... (y/n) wake up..." he said it in a soft, musical way. It coaxed you out of your dreams slowly. Sitting up, you groaned at the kink in your neck from the awkward way you had curled up in the seat. Taking a second to gather yourself, you glanced around out the window. It was now light out, and you were surrounded by a small block of houses. Where it was, you weren't quite sure.
"Where are we?" You mumble, stretching your arms above your head. They knock against the ceiling of the car, and you shoot it a dirty look before slowly getting out.
"My home.. Houston." He sounded proud, yet, hesitant. You couldn't blame him though, it had to be an odd situation for him.
He came up behind you, softly wrapping his arms around you. Extending one hand, he points to a small pale blue house in front of you. It had a wrap around porch, and old southern window shutters. "That's the house we're staying at. It's one of Carlisle's friend's, and he's out of town so Carlisle gave him a call. It's pretty nice, isn't it?"
You grin.
"It really is." Before you could finish your thought, you paused. The realization of James flooded back to your head. You had almost forgot.. you turned to Jasper. "I'm thankful you're trying to help me feel better but.." you lean your forehead against his chest. In reaction, his hands softly rest on top of your hair. "I can't push these thoughts away. I can't have you pushing them away for me. I need to stay alert. It's just the truth."
Jasper sighs softly. "My love." Is all he says. It's all he needed to say. You two head into the house, hand in hand.
